That’s strange having HB reg on the Daf’s, HB being a Merthyr number.
Hopefully, Gaydon will be a blast and lots of you will meet up and post pic’s etc.

Regards Paul

No its another one, black and yellow, photographed in an open barn.

Does any members remember a small operator from newport called Roger Tanner? He had a yard down near the railway and ran about five Ford Transcons one of which my dad used to drive. They were mostly white over red 4x2s which he then modified with tag lifts, double drives etc in-house.My dads was a tag lift i think and they used to do traction work for Rhys davies and sons(now freight logistics).Be better still if anyone has any photos of any of the Transcons■■?
At one time my dad drove a Leyland Marathon for nesbitts of cardiff(wish he had been camera happy)photos anyone?

When you say ‘down by the railway’ do you mean at the industrial end of Corperation road past Sheddicks transport and the Orb works where Birdport steels and Newport container valet are?
If so I remember a yard there backing onto the rail line with some Transcons in, [this would be late 90’s] I went there recently and all the yards have been cleared and seems to be part of Birdport now.

hi all,
we all had another great gaydon.the steelboys had just over 50 trucks at cirencester football ground on friday :sunglasses: .thanks to my mate’s ec14 and mechanic77 for rescuing me from the cirencester crapper  ,i keep forgetting that stowford press cider knocks me sideways at 46 years of age  .good to put faces to a few trucknet regulars, cattle wagon man,m4 dog walker and seen sitting in the cab of my texan atki, altitude, good to meet you john,i hope you enjoyed elvis mate    .

Had a good time on the Steelboys road run and Gaydon show. Heres a few pics I took…
