here’s an old one of ade. jenkins’ photo’s.bob phillips and ade. with ntg 330l.andrew ,330L was brand new there mate.the sighn leaked and bob had just fixed it thats why he was stood on the bumper.i aint seen phelps in years the last i heard he was living in bristol and had his own motor.ade.

vale transport were always well presented.may be you would know?,cause i don’twhy has this atki (pictured below) had the centre section of the lower bumper cut away
.although i was only a kid at the time,it almost seemed to me that no two atki’s were the same
,some had different headlamps and headboards etc etc.
ah, now that’s a straightforward one! When the Viewline and Mk.2 were first introduced (in that order), this was the standard bumper:
When the new range was introduced at the 1970 Show (‘Borderer’. ‘Defender’, etc.) the straight bumper was introduced - it was cheaper to make. Late Mk.2 ‘Knights’ appeared with them too, presumably since stocks were already in the factory.
The bigger headboard on the Mik.2 cab came in 1972.

Did have an ERF at one time for Glendenning’s up here in County Durham the reg was ETY 666 L driving along a farm track up in Scotland and the track collapsed beneath the moter and it rolled over the only trouble i ever had in a lifetime as a driver I was the tail ender of four four motors in convoy and the others got through without incident.

hya all, 555H was my first motor with vale.i had 777J then 999J and then a new motor 330L.once he,d used up all the trebbles he started 110L,220L then330L which was my turn.all atkinsons.ade.

i think it was 220L mate tho i wouldnt swear to it.john muir hadNTG 220L and i hadNTG 330L new.his was the faster as mine would do 57 ish and his would do 62 ish.i remember normans roadways now but cant remember cliff there.some thing in the back of my mind tells me it was 220L.i remember cliff with monarch transport.last off he was with r.e plant i think.ade.

thanks for your comments mate .too me,the whole bloody thing looks heavy when it comes to heavy haulage in south wales,walters group are number 1 in my opinion.yes i am attending gaydon this year.i will be parked at the top amongst the 50 plus trucks in the steel boys display.we have elvis performing again on saturday night this year,he was brilliant two years ago .you can’t miss my texan atki.so please come along and say hello.

a david howells transport 560 iveco stralis.dai has kindly lent another load of old and new photos which i will post when i return next week.in the mean time,a few middle east photos from way back when and the final batch from jinks@62.
bob williams called into see me today,bob has kindly lent more old photos .this time a trip he did to iraq,years ago.bill? from maesteg owned the transcon pny 3r and asked blue line from tondu,if he could borrow their old low loader,to pick up a unit from the midlands.bob then loaded a mobile crane and went to iraq along with eric coventry and his mate horse from port talbot.
the front wheel bearing on the unit was kippered when they got to belgrade.
