hi harry,
to be honest,i wouldn’t have an accurate number for john raymond’s atki’s.my guess would be 50 - 60 plus.in later years when they ran 400’s and 401’s that figure would be 150-160 plus.
regards andrew.

Ah, now that’s a straightforward one! When the Viewline and Mk.2 were first introduced (in that order), this was the standard bumper:

When the new range was introduced at the 1970 Show (‘Borderer’. ‘Defender’, etc.) the straight bumper was introduced - it was cheaper to make. Late Mk.2 ‘Knights’ appeared with them too, presumably since stocks were already in the factory.

The bigger headboard on the Mik.2 cab came in 1972.

Hope that all helps!

Oh, and this pic shows the difference between a Mk.1. and a Mk.2:

hi andrew, the bumper on the then new atki cab was like that at first then they modified it later.all the 3s was the first one ■■■■ had with the new cab.all the 4s and later had the straight bumper.that was the design on the first model.when the J reg came out they changed the mirrors to forward of the door instead of on the door top.that design was on all the G reg,s as far as i know except all the 2s which was as stx in the picture. when i first started with ■■■■ he still had a moggie 1000,it may have been that one.he treated himself to a green jag and it was crap. brand new yet the doors had to be slammed to shut them and the engine misfired and they found a hole on top of the piston…■■■■ called it rubbish and poor standard of build.he swapped it for two fords in the end.ade.

hi andrew, they were smart motors with the red bumper.i reckon ■■■■ had the nicest colours around at the time.the old atki was a bosses motor with the gardener giving good returns on fuel and parts were available and cheap.the old gardener would go on forever with no trouble.mick and eddie were the oxford change over and they fitted another knights head to their wagon and when ■■■■ saw it he made them take it off as it didnt look the same.as the others.he was very fussy with the wagons and we had to keep them clean and they were well maintained too.i liked old ■■■■ raymond he was ok. ade.[brilliant photos they really take me back,]i just noticed the wagon has got the two nights heads on it in the picture.
