South Wales Hauliers sixties and seventies onwards (Part 1)

One of the reasons we never carried spares was I didn’t like drivers jacking motors up,seen too many sat on their brake drum(not ours) plus we always had twin tanks so carrying a spare was not an option really.Cheers Dennis.

it was well worth a tenner to have to change a wheel.bloody hard work.and it saved joints buying new tyre and callout charge.i used to hate it especially super singles.ade.

hi all,

pete 359:

scribbler was me on the cb.she was a lovely motor when graham bought her but the head gasket went and he was told the heads needed skimming but he was too tight and had them put it back together as it was.it was crap and used water like nobodys buisiness.neil quinn the irish"fitter" sent me to get some radweld and stuck a few bottles of that in and still it used loads of water but it had no heater either then.it was a crap wagon after and i froze in it.the wipers stopped working and i couldnt get them to fix them.a lovely motor butchered thats all i can say.i was glad to finish and i warned paul barrow what he was in for but i dont think he believed me untill he found out.i was glad to get back on a tidy motor and have tax in the window for a change.i think i went with blue line from there for the second time.all part of being experienced i guess! Bary Woodward did a good paint job on it though.ann insisted on having “ade” painted on the back of the cab though i didnt want it.
