apparantly he was…" on the point of being dangerously tired" on his agency shift,so went for an hours kip,so as we already know he dont do nights out unless he gets paid hours straight through.
there will be no more of that when your in charge of 500 passengers at 36000 feet on longhaul though…
on the other hand, you could read the post as,i met my mate at south mimms, tanned 600 itres, put a screwdriver through the filler neck, then surprisingly enough, the company dont want me back as ive made it all up anyway?
watch ths space for the inevitable last word.
the best mates seem noticable by their absence recently? where are they lurking now?
These stories just grow arms n legs to be blatantly jackanory. Someone with way too much time on their hands is actually sitting at home making this bull up. Lost 600 litres in less than an hour from parking up. Must have been some fancy ■■■ pump to silently draw that much in total silence inches away from sleeping beauty in her bunk.
Spent many night in South mimms, too many , if your lucky enough to get a space after 9pm your doing well but if your just having a 45 you would park behind the the wagons in the middle , someone would see someone theiving there , where were you parked sam ? What time was it ? Not that i dont belive you its just I’ve parked there hundreds of times and not had or seen much bother

Helps when you are working on a Sunday night. Was still a bit packed. I got a spot on at the back on the left as you drive in. The gates behind it you can see the road. My suspicion is someone has come over the fence - as there were vans parked there. I parked up at: 01.56 according to my print off on Monday morning. And was stuck there until Scania sorted me at 07.34. There was actually a double spot in the middle as you drive in - but that involves blindsiding it and even with two spaces I don’t trust myself. At the end where I parked you can spin it around and basically make is a straight line reverse.
My original plan was to kip for an hour to an hour and a half. I woke up before my alarm at the hour mark cold. Tried getting night heater working again and it said ‘error’ or some other rubbish. So I went back to sleep and woke up again 15 mins again really shivering. Then turned the engine on and it said I had zero % fuel. I thought that couldn’t be right. So I checked.

that kinda sums it up nicely my man.
however, this one gets better and better.
so,at some point during your mega agency shift after 1 a.m,you get to
" on the point of being dangerously tired "
( i just love that bit), park up,fall asleep, and from when you actully fall asleep till well under 1 hour as you woke before that, your dervs blagged.you wake up frozen with the sub artic temperature of london in early october and theres not enough derv left in the tank to fire up the night heater thatl use 1 litre every 6 hours or so.
seeing as your an expert at emailing head honchos, why dont you email scania service and see if they can fit cages into the back of the fitters van so that they can come with a friendly rescue dog complete with artic survival kit and keep similar wazzocks warm and snug while they repair the truck.after all it was only a quick five hours 30 mins to get a callout with 2 cans of derv bunged into the tank.they could even put derv in its barrel and kill two birds with the one stone.its a highly impressive turnround time there,id even be enailing about that seeing as how south mimms is such a remote area for the fitter to be trying to find when his workshop is also in south mimms.
but please do keep flogging this one as well till it gets locked again.
and wheres the best mates for backup? surey there not working different shifts this week?
Could you post up the email from Rod Mckie please only it says here he left as ceo in May 2018. Not that I don`t believe you but at 51 years old I get a bit confused.
sammym:
Dan - i) I didn’t pay to park. I was stopping to get my head down for an hour. I wouldn’t pay for services if it were my money paying for it. ii) The Scania mechanic put some fuel in to get it started (2 jerry cans so about 30-40l) and that unit does significantly more than 9mpg - more like 16. It’s a 69 plate 4 legger 410hp model and is ridiculously good on fuel.
Robroy - I’m not a tramper mate. And I don’t really choose to park anywhere. I was getting to the point of being dangerously tired so I pulled over to the first place. At that point on the m25 it was the best option (until my one hour nap turned into 6 hours stuck there).
My good friend Doggy - you can fly a plane (on your own!) before you have a licence. But only under the supervision of an instructor (he tells you what to do before you set off). It’s called doing your first solo. In fact your not allowed to do your test to get your PPL until you have a minimum of 10 solo hours, and a certain number have to be cross country distance flights.
Im sorry do you live 1 year ahead of everybody else.I would like to think if a unit was doing 16mpg then every company would have that spec and scania would be leaders in the heavy truck market worldwide. Seems you have a little to much time on your hands auld boy.
Sorry Sammym … I see you answered the Rod Mckie question earlier in the thread.
You said in one of your replies that you had a 69 plate Scania, sorry, but I am easily confused. Your Scania has been registered in the future from 1st September 2019.

i wonder in what direction this one will go now when he/they wake up today?
will it be
1…ignore and let it die a death?
2… keep digging a hole with more fabricated waffle?
3 …get the bestest best mates to pop up and support?
4 …play the hard done to victim and complain to the mods?
5 decide to do as before, take the hump and give us another adios amigo im out of here forever ( for 2 weeks).
it somehow looks like that big egg could be enroute to that face again .

I dont know Sammys previous with this but if the usual rhetoric for when a thread doesnt go the OPs way is to be followed itll be option 5 with a “no wonder the industry is ■■■■■■ when drivers dont even stick together” thrown in

My apologies for incorrectly hitting 9 rather 7. I’m not willing to share personal emails. Whilst I’m happy to disclose the result of the exchange - I’m not happy to include other information included in the communication.
It’s a real shame that the usual suspect yet again needs to continue his reign of harassment. Let’s keep it real for a moment.
Did I stop for that amount of time?
Note the vehicle reg. It’s a scania R410 4 leggger. Others can determine what fuel consumption they achieve from that model. I can only state what the trip computer tells me I achieve in the vehicle. Note as I’ve said I wasn’t running with nearly any weight in on the way back.
So did I run out of fuel? And have to have Scania come and assist me and then put in £100 on my own credit card?
Can I prove the size of the tank? Obviously not, I only know how much I needed to put in when I got back to the depot (around 500l with some already in the tank). And I said approximately.
I’ve not included any of this information for any other reason than hopefully, people can see what genuine posters are subjected too when they do nothing more than try and help the ‘driving community’. Do I hope drivers are more pro-active in improving their conditions? Absolutely.
If there was an ounce of decency in some people they would simply apologise and let it go. But I doubt that will be the case. Either way - I wish everyone on here the best. The silent 95% of the forum are fantastic and a genuine asset to the community, I still remember the unseen guys PMing me before my first shift offering their telephone numbers if I needed any help.
Ta DAAAAAAHHHH
