Songs You Cannot Drive To

I like to think of myself as a fairly placid guy who isn’t easily wound up, but that horrendous Fireflies song by Owl City that got played to death a few years back used to have me foaming at the mouth and and punching the radio. I also hit the ‘off’ button for any Michael Buble cheese or anything similar.

Anything by the Bangles. Don’t know why but drives me mad. Steve Wright was funny back in the day. Now it’s boorish.

Yes, Steve Wright was quite a pioneer, and very funny. Now it’s just embarrassing, especially the arse kissing interviews.

Not driving music but I quite liked radio 4 s morning chorus .

Drive by the Cars can not listen to that now since the video from Live Aid 1985

Most other things I can tolerate as it is only a few min long

The Pushbike Song!

mna mna da da de da da mna mna…tolerable but drives me nuts.

Started listening to music on one of these strapped to the dash of a Commer two stroke in 1964 !!.I was a drivers mate and me and the driver used to argue whose turn it was to buy the battery(the battery didnt last long as we had to have it up full to have any chance of hearing it over the screaming engine.)
I pretty much liked every thing in those days, but the music got steadily worse in my opinion, until finally RAP,spelled with a silent “C” ,finally killed it off !! . I know we should be concentrating all the time, but does anyone, like me,turn the radio off without thinking when getting to a busy town and trying to find a drop?
Ok I will shove off back to the Old Timers Forum now!!
Regards John.

SWEDISH BLUE:
Anything played on Radio 2 between 05.00 and 06.30 Mon-Fri :smiling_imp:

Radio 2 between miday and 2pm if that lump of lard is standing in for Jeremy Vine! :imp:

I am assuming you mean that lovely lady vanessa,in which case I agree with you,she is even worse in the morning,i reckon she could talk for England

I like the oldies at 3pm on wrightys show but it really bugs me when he interrupts the songs with his stupid chat

seasons in the sun by terry jacks, one of the most depressing songs I have ever heard,if you were thinking of topping yourself that song would make you do it

We’re all going on a summer holiday by Cliff, just makes me want to ram a caravan or 4.

Anything by the spice girls or cliff richard

Got to agree one of the wrost songs about

Yes, Steve Wright was quite a pioneer, and very funny. Now it’s just embarrassing, especially the arse kissing interviews.

His sidekick Tim is so far up Wrights arse you can read his shoe size!

Not music but that bit where Chris Evans asks kids what they’re doing today. I always switch off, cringeworthy radio.
Oh, and pause for thought.

That song about “making plans for Nigel.” Such solid gold ■■■■■ it is, it rivals the jewellery sold in Argos.
“Cannonball” by Damian Rice.

Fireflies by Owl City. Or any other of their remarkably forgettable drivel

Overplayed by Vine.

Why do Radio 2 play something by ELO nearly every hour, something by Fleetwood Mac every couple of hours?

They play more Monkees tunes than Beatles songs.

Nothing by Bowie, but Frozen sodding Orange Juice by Peter Sarstedt all the while.

Cliff Richard - Paedo talk anymore

Eva Cassidy - as Bono once said, death is a career move.

Ken Bruce was raving about Karen Carpenter the other day. I suppose she wasn’t a bad drummer for a fat lass.
