Allegedly falsifying maintenance records.
Crown court seems little bit over the top

Obviously more to it than we have been told by the press.
If i drove for them i would have my feelers out for a new job as ‘disrepute and O licence curtailment’ springs to mind.

Switchlogic and Mr Vernon senior both work for MD, I assume Luke will give his take on it at some point.
Got a feeling this might highlight why the green light system and an obsession with first time MOT pass rates was not a good idea.

mountain out of a molehill big stick to deter others is the usual format.
counterfeiting and forgery sound bad until you see its for ticking a few maintenance boxes on a no doubt well maintained fleet anyway.
usual ott dvsa pish.

Yeah they do make it sound like he’s been trying to pass off inspection sheets as cash to buy ■■■■ in Tescos, or something.
So you would all be happy driving around in a truck thats missed its inspection? not knowing how many items the last mech put down as check next service/serviceable at present and could now be worn out.
Remember the guy with the tipper and his mech?

The ones I’ve seen certainly look clean’n’tidy, but I can tell you, that I’ve bought a few nice looking vehicles…
If someone is slack with paperwork why would anyone assume they are careful with other things?
How many drivers Cars would pass a 6 weekly inspection without fault. As long as it stops and everything seems fine to the pilot crack on.
Having done MOT’s and inspections on cars, it’s horrific the state of some cars,
So the fitter just ticked a few inspections thro, without seeing said truck, he would know it’s condition, so what, I would think lots of fitters do the same.
It’s dvsa making an example, trying to look good,so others shake in their boots.

So you know we have drivers out there who have no idea of the true condition of their vehicles.
.
And we have fitter who doesn’t sit in the passenger seat, as the Muppet driver bounces it over kerbs and may not look at the tyres from one month til the next.
.
How can a fitter possibly know the condition of a vehicle he hasn’t seen for weeks?
.
If it’s gonna be ok after 6 weeks, it should, by the same logic, be ok after the next six weeks shouldn’t it? So, since we can go 3months with no problems, why not 6mths?

A good fitter will know which drivers look after the motor and which abuse it, your large blue ■■■ Lego firm, who hot seat maybe not, but a one driver truck firm will.
This is that classic, they’re good lads, know what they’re doing, just bending the rules a bit, leave them be.
Yet if this was the first we’d heard about it after a fatal, then everyone would be the opposite…
its most likely that the truck wasnt in the yard on the 6 week exactly to the date, and got looked at a day or a week or so later once its back which is absolutely no big deal.
normal practice if your trucks not on constant local day work.
if thats the case then its just dvsa doing their usual ott jakethesnake…

So, if it’s a day or two late, be honest, and mark it a day or two late…
That won’t get your O Licence revoked.
We are on a green light…mainly because we sit around all day doing nowt* …But occasionally a truck may be late for an inspection.
Not a problem.
