So whats your hobby away from the cab?

Cars for me. My sons just passed his test and driving a VW up! But bought a ‘91 mini last year as his little project for one day when he can insure it. I’m insured on it so take him out in it. Today we fitted a stage one kit to it which was a bit of fun. My guilty pleasures are BMW and old rwd fords. Until earlier this year I had a lovely 4 door E36 M3 evo which some ■■■■■■■■ decided should be theirs so helped themselves. Now got a mapped E92 330d (305 bhp) which is a great. 40+mpg, rwd and properly quick, just needs an lsd badly! [emoji4]

Away from the cab,Ride and fix my old(ish) '80 Honda CB900F. I rode it to Spa Francochamps for the Bikers Classic meeting this year,
I read a lot,
learning to play the flute,
muck about with my computer, either on-line (TruckNetUK and Faceache mainly)
or upgrading bits of it (just bought a much better CPU, but need a different type of RAM to go with it)
Cooking things, not done that for many years. Made a Medovic Cake which came out perfectly (well chuffed with that one  ),
Mainly just basic home cooking tho, roasts, stews etc, usually successfully (I haven’t killed myself yet), a couple of things have ended up in the recycling.
In the cab,I read a lot,
practice playing the flute,
muck about in 'tinterweb on my phone,
that’s about it really.

Just to put my mind at rest Simon…

This flute you play, it’s not the ’ pink flute ’ is it?

Rest assured it’s probably the blue veined flute.

Im into jazz music, and play tenor and soprano saxophone. My soprano sax accompanies me on the road, so I get to practise when the opportunity presents itself, if Im not flat out on the bunk that is :grimacing:

Careful now. He might be from the other side. We don’t want an outbreak of sectarian war on here.

Wouldn’t say I have many hobbies away from the cab but I am a private pilot which probably makes up for it in expenses. Great fun but over the winter with the grass runways means it’s more of a summer sport :stuck_out_tongue:

I am also a pilot, my rating is for paragliders, making it also a summer sport.

I fly a drone so am classed as a pilot as well, by some but not me …

Surf the web, mostly forums
Like cooking, good thing because I’m on my own so I would go hungry if I didn’t
Retired so no work means I can play at making model trucks, 50 scale when it’s cold and wet outside and my 3/8 scale Scania 141 when the weather is nice.
Making things out of other peoples cast offs and scrap, good thing because the pension doen’t run to buying new stuff very often
