So monday morning what we gonna listen to?

now molyes has gone, if moyles went to capital radio brekfast he would easy take 4mill listeners with him…
makes me laugh radio1 think the older listeners will go to radio 2!! like hell i am :open_mouth:

to be fair there’s a good chance i’ll be listening to chris evans, or maybe talksport, although i’m not into football

That’s a bloody good question. I can’t help thinking this could be a mahussive blunder on the BBC’s part. Apparently Grimshaw has been instructed to play twice as many songs as Moyles did. But have Radio 1 honestly failed to realise that 8 million people liked the way the breakfast show worked? so why change it? I can’t sus it out. I hope he appears somewhere else at some point. As for the rest of the team, what are they going to do?

Probably just stay with radio1 and see how it goes. Other than that i dont think there is much choice without digital radio.
Scott is on for a week before Nick starts.

The Radio 1 bosses have been tasked with reducing the average age of their listeners. They said the breakfast shows’ average listener is 38 (I think) they want to bring that down.

Play more ■■■■■ music and you’re pretty much guaranteed to get all the mindless 20 somethings that just follow the talentless manufactured music.

I must admit i had a lump in my throat today, have listened to that show since the beginning through 2 redundancies and various miserable jobs, that show always cheered me up in the mornings, i liked the Paul Turner voiceover guy piece and the celeb endorsements. The whole show was about the banter, not the music (much to the radio 1 controller’s disdain), in the end you either got it or you didn’t, i for one will miss it.

The penultimate show live on the red button.

Vibe FM in Peterborough now known as Kiss 100 had a cracking breakfast show with chappers and Sam. It made my morning listening to them whilst going to work and they made me laugh my back side off.

Now they have got rid of that and Kiss is like other stations in the morning boring as hell

below is an example to what sort of songs they used to make themselves

to be fair it was sad when Tina started crying on air.

I thought Moyles did a great breakfast show & I’ll miss it, Evans on R2 for me now, actually it will be R2 all day apart from Steve Wright coz I can’t bloody stand him at all or Feltz in any way shape or form

Same as usual, Robbie Dee on CFM if I was in locals or Chris Evans on R2 further afield.
26y/o who can’t stand that gobby fat self obsessed yorkshire prick

IPod for me, having been updated over the weekend…

maybe I’m an old ■■■■■■ but for me its;
Feltz on R2 to start with.
Then the Today current affairs program on R4 which neatly avoids Chris Evans inane chat.
Then quickly back to R2 for the highlight of the day Ken Bruce, followed by Jeremy Vine.
Back to R4 at 14:15 for the afternoon drama which avoids Steve Wright whos still doing his 1980’s R1 show.
Then its R2 with Simon Mayo.

wogan was the breakfast king  have not listened to radio 1 since the big cull many years ago
cant stand all the adverts and repeat songs on local radio ,so its radio 2 for me

Bring back Tony Blackburn.

He’s on every Sat on R 2 …

I’m guessing that they will need to move the microphone for the new guy because he won’t be doing the show with his head up his own arse

The problem with radio 2 is that it is still catering for the older generation who should in theory move onto radio 3. The only thing being that the older generation are staying younger at heart than our forefathers and dont want to listen to opera and classical all day so are staying on 2 hence 2 still playing 50’s and 60’s music at times and hence the older radio 1 listeners won’t make the full move to radio 2.
Myself, I listen to absolute radio on DAB, Christian oconnel breakfast show is a great listen.

always hated moyles so it used to be chris evens all the way until i got a pure dab its now planet rock all day

love him or hate him , you cant deny he pulled the listeners in for radio 1 when they desperately needed them , R1 was a fast sinking ship & he’s as good as kept it afloat for the past 8 years simply because , R1 has a desperately poor lineup. i’ve not listened to moyles regularly for a few years now , but that was because of the rubbish music not him,i cant see R1 getting any better from here on in , i’m still R2 & R4 so i’ll be fine

thats pretty much bang on i loved his show the way they had that 30 min ramble before they played a song was like nearly every workplace in the land with people having a chat with a brew before they crack on for the day
anyone else noticed that nearer the end of the week they keep mentioning how the beeb are getting rid of them not that they are leaving
