bowser:
i just got an email reply from the snooper poi bloke about this very subject , they will make you a poi if you send them the info in the correct file type , i told him in my email i did’nt understand all that stuff but he did’nt seem interested in helping at all .if you go to the snooper poi website it tells you what to do but its no good if you dont undestand what its on about .
i have to be honest here and say this is not the first time i’ve contacted snooper for help/advise and they have never shown any interest what so ever . it a good satnav in my opinion but i’m dreading something going wrong with it because i doubt they would be of any help .
I had the model down from this, think it was the S2000, truck sat nav. I had a problem trying to get my own POIs on it, as you say Snooper don’t seem to give a to$$.
I have a couple of their Speed Camera locator thingys, I sent one back cos it couldn’t find the Satellites and it took Snooper 5 weeks to replace it. On one of my many calls to them they tried to blame Vodaphone because they couldn’t activate the Sim card. Needles to say when I mentioned Section 75 and my Credit Card provider things moved along.
As for Sat Navs, I have quite a few TomTom 920s and I’ve just put the very latest Euroland Maps on them along with Speed Cameras and hundreds of trucking POIs. You can’t do that with a Snooper.
You don’t need the auto censor dodge, cos the word “toss” is OK to write. dd.
