Smokinnnnnng!

Yet another law passed ,only in Wales .I agree with it ,but is it just another money making exercise… :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Local authority and police to enforce the new law… :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:
So people on holiday might get stung for £50 quid :open_mouth: how they hell do holiday makers from poland ,estonia, latvia etc etc know the law has changed !

The sooner this becomes law in England the better.

Not sure how you can say it is just a money making exercise. This is about trying to reduce the damage to young childrens lungs who have no say in whether or not mummy and daddy light that ■■■.

As a smoker I don’t think a law will effect me much… comment sense should tell a parents not to smoke in the presence of kids… I don’t do it around them at home indoors, just relegate myself to going out side. If I’m out and about then its just as simple to pull over and get out the car and have one…

I very much doubt the fines dished out for the smoking bans now would cover the cost of enforcement.

If I could swear I would tell all the do gooders to, well you know! Ex smoker myself but why can’t people see or make it ‘safe’ for them and theirs without needing to make life miserable for others?

If it WAS that dangerous then the dreaded weed would be totally banned.

No cash in that though, is there?

Hypocrites!

I know of some 20 yr olds that don’t look more than 16 how the chuff are the old bill gonna know without pulling them over :open_mouth:

There’s hardly any plod on the beat as it is

Oh great, bloody nanny state involved in parenting. Just more excuses for the self righteous dash cam divas to film folk doing stuff they shouldnt.

Bloody double standards, im a fantastic parent but now my kids can smoke in the car but I cant. Well at least it will stop em nickin me tabs.

My car has rear privacy glass, not tinted as such, it’s limo style (think that’s a name they give it) and is nigh on impossible to see through unless really close…if I wanna smoke in my car, I bloody well will…can’t smoke in the car, the truck, pub or even at a bus stop (if it has a shelter, apparently)…they can all go ■■■■ themselves. Go abroad and they smoke behind the bar when making ya drinks up…nobody seems to mind about that, even non-smokers!

Nothing against people who choose to smoke, its their choice.
I packed in 11 years ago,and its only after 12 months or so did I begin to notice how people who smoke, clothes smell of stale tobacco, and how I must have smelled
Same goes for my house, the difference was noticeable after decorating,my non smoking family made comments on it.
Being in a confined space with a smoker is now a no no

I smoke in my car and no bloody law will stop me but I always have the window open a wee bit and never use the ashtray. The lower air pressure outside will draw any smoke out before it ‘kills’ any passengers, even if it’s slowly killing me but that’s my choice.

You’ve never driven abroad have you?

You do it the same way I found out that you needed to have a breathalyser when you went to France when they introduced that. You look up the laws for driving in the country you plan on driving in on holiday before you go. In the case of the UK the AA give very good advice.

How long did it take for you to find out about the HGV speed limit changes?

As for those complaining about the law, I cannot believe people here seem to think its OK to have their kids in a car full of cig smoke.

it’s against the law to use a mobile phone whilst driving and we all now how useless the law is on that matter, the roads are not policed to the level they need to be another pointless law, by the way what kind of moron smokes with his/her children in the car.

Kids in the boot, from now on.

Oh the namby pambys are out in force today…should make it law in england…what idiot smokes in front of his kids` etc etc…well it will only infect your bloody kids wont it…my smoke cant infect them cos they wont be in my car…will they > Doh. as stated earlier, if they were so dangerous, why not ban them altogether…well because the taxation we pay, helps pay for the NHS, helps pay for tarts ■■■■ jobs, for reducing fat people to skinny ones…etc etc…amny people have been affected by the smoking ban in pubs, theyre all closing, so people can buy a 6 pack for a fiver, and smoke in their own home whilst having a beer, a tradition since way back when. i must admit that smoking in restaurants is ok, cos i could never stand a dirty ashtray on my table at home or out, but i can still do that abroad if i choose.
i smoke in my car, and have always smoked in my working surroundings ( my truck ) and nothing is not going to change that. The law states that it also affects motorhomes ( except when theyre parked up ) so that must also mean trucks too. Convertables are exempt providing the roof is down and stowed away, regardless of who is inside ( the same as a parked car. ) dont forget to keep the kids indoors when guy fawkes is around…dont know what being burnt do ya, and dont forget the car/truck fumes…theres more pollution in the air that will harm kids, theres lots of dampness in the homes they live in to give them asthma, and other lung related illnesses, so whats next…ban vaping, ban e.cigs…ban smoking in the home…nanny state gone mad…

They won’t ban ■■■■ Truckyboy, wot will the 10/11/12/13 year olds living in the ■■■■ hole council estates buy with their ‘I’ll gotten gains/pocket money’? I’d smoke in a pub/restaurant when it was allowed but not until those at my table had finished their meal and didn’t care a monkeys if those around me smoked…beer and a smoke, hand in hand. If you want to get in my car, be prepared for me to light up, window down an inch of course! And I must ensure that if I’m sat behind a particularly smokey car or truck, I turn the climate control off…would want any nasty Carbon Monoxide creeping in to a confined space…oh wait…how are the little lovies gonna walk to school or (heaven forbid) work…wear a bleeding gas mask for the rest of their days or have a CO detector strapped to their waist? Surprised nobody has mentioned Roy Castle yet!

It won’t just be Wales enforcing the new law from 1st October

How can anyone seriously worry about having a ■■■ in the car when they drive a cancer causing machine.

Disgusting habit, the more anti smoking laws the better!!! :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Good idea, lets make illegal all things that I don’t personally like !
