I’m a smoker and I really enjoy it. I won’t Smoke in a shared lorry. I keep the lorry I drive immaculate and I do smoke in it. There’s nothing to keeping it clean, little and often. Plenty of neutrodol and change the air freshners every week.
I see a lot of drivers who have pulled over in a laby for a ■■■.They are stood outside of the cab.
More common now is a lone figure stood outside the door of a house having a ■■■.
I guess their partner has laid down rules of the house.
■■■■■■■:
As a light smoker of both “persuasions”, I never smoke in my own or anyone else`s house, car or wagon. I am also totally in agreement with the laws regarding this (apart from the wacky), and have no problem observing them.I wouldn
t dream of inflicting the consequences of my bad habits upon anyone else, and consider it the height of bad manners in anyone who flouts a non-smokers perfect right to a smoke-free environment. It
s not difficult to avoid conflict if you exercise a bit of consideration for others.
I can’t believe you openly admit to smoking drugs
The yellow gack that is deposited on headlinings, glass etc is not nicotine (which is odourless and colourless). It is tar, and it reeks to high heaven
I don’t know how anyone can afford to smoke now, I stopped 8 years ago after smoking up to 40 a day for almost 45 years, if I was still a smoker that would now be costing me £5825 a year!! (20 B&H = £7.98) And £4504 of that goes to the taxman!
I had a choice, stop smoking and retire early and still have a good standard of living, and a nice holiday every year.
Or carry on smoking and working, get cancer and bronchitis and live in a smelly cab all week.

Why? There are more people using cannabis in this country than there are people who smoke cigarettes.
I don’t indulge myself but I can see the argument for can’t is over alcohol. How many stoners do you see in hospitals on a Saturday night??
I think the high cost of a packet of ■■■■ helps to explain the popularity of hand rolling (and also the burgeoning “black market” in illegally imported baccy). I packed up over 25 years ago when the price for a pack of 20 Lambert & Butler went past £1 (not that I ever smoked that brand - it was just a trigger point that was reached). I used the money that I saved each month to make the payments on a brand spanky new GPz550 Kawasaki
Harry Monk:
PPH:
Who Enforces it…Nobody, do you really want to pay taxes so that your local Council can employ a “No Smoking Officer” on £40,000 a year?
You think? I remember when our local council advertised for one of these before the ban came in, and your not far wrong with the salary either!!!
I would also like to add, there is nothing worse than an ex smoker to come into a discussion about smoking, giving it the high almighty, I bet that idiot who was on JV when they was discussing lung transplants on radio 2 is an ex smoker, he sounded like one!
I’ve found that some one who has never smoked is more likely to accept a smoker, than an ex smoker would!!
I think the idiots are the ones that want to conform to every stupid law that comes out of Brussels!
Tipper Tom:

Rubbish. Several studies over recent years put the number of ■■■ smokers (i.e. regular users) at around 19% of the adult population in England & Wales, whereas the figure for those who have used cannabis ‘at least once in the past year’ (so hardly “regular use”) is around 7%. There are regional and socio-economic variations (e.g. among manual workers the figure for smokers is around 33%, and among young adults the figure for cannabis use is around 14%) but the number of tobacco smokers is, by any measure, much higher than weed users.
Or those that smoke weed tend not to respond to surveys and god forbid those that do lie
Are the councils going to arrest all the smokers? lol
Till tobacco is BANNED!!! It’s a legal high! And non smokers can ■■■■ it up!!

As Tom rightly observes, (thanks, mate!) people of all walks partake of the "devils nettle". Coppers, Teachers, judges, doctors, solicitors, nigellas, etc. etc. I stress that in my case, this is an occasional indulgence, always within a social setting, and not a frequent habit. tbh, when compared back-to-back, alcohol and tobacco are the principal problems within society, consuming vast sums of taxpayer
s money policing bad behaviour and treating health problems, and the governmental issue with weed is purely a taxation one. Being overly self-righteous on this subject can make one sound naive and out of touch with modern society.
Roymondo - I, along with millions of others, have NEVER been polled on my personal lifestyle, so how these figures are compiled is farcical. To quote Benjamin Disraeli (allegedly) - “there are lies, damned lies, and statistics”.
It’s only “farcical” if you don’t understand (or deliberately ignore) the statistical methods used. Besides - how do you know that “millions of others” have never been polled? Have you asked them (all of them, don’t forget!) yourself?

I realise you are having a laugh dessy (well I think you are ) and after reading some of the quotes from smokers (well, apart from yours
) I was maybe a bit hasty about the pig ignorant thing, but it was just what I encountered myself in the past.
So dessy, what’s your line on smoking in somebody elses motor who is a non smoker, do they have to “■■■■ it up” after you have used it? just curious.
I have nothing against smokers and agree they need somewhere to smoke, just not in my truck/house/car, I love a pint but wouldn’t ■■■■ in somebody elses motor.
Didn’t entirely think that one through , I wouldn’t ■■■■ in my own either
Fair play, Roymondo! The 10yr census doesn`t delve that deeply, and I know of no other national poll. In recent years, East European and Vietnamese “farmers” have inundated the country with their quality wares, and the scale of casual usage among all social classes has skyrocketed.
I knew I`d get pulled on the “millions” comment (justifiably), and cussed myself immediately after hitting “submit”!!
The indisputable truth is that such precise percentages are little more than departmental guesstimates, so why not join in with a few contrived numbers?
I am not waving the banner for either camp, but recreational usage is way, way greater than our illustrious leaders will ever concede.
I have never felt the need to even try smoking, tobacco has never passed my lips and most of the people I know are non smokers but thats just coincidence and as a thought non of our full time drivers smoke.
I know when I am on my week or two off the guy who temps for us smokes in the cab but he is quite meticulous, on the last day he does a full valet inside and your hard pressed to know he was smoking, thankfully

They can afford it on Benefit’s Street !
Oops sorry, I meant ‘We/the tax Payer’ can afford it for the poor ‘Wittle’ Benefit scroungers.
Till tobacco is Banned!!! The EU or Government are not willing to stop collecting the tax,so Shmoke to your hearts content wherever you want!
I don’t smoke and last time I looked this was a free country,so wouldn’t dream of dictating to anyone what they do when what they are doing is perfectly legal! If tobacco is banned then the Police can arrest and charge you for a criminal offence! Until then mind your own!!
My vehicle, which I own is a Temple to the travels of Sir Walter Raleigh.60 to 80 times each day I give thanks to his efforts. As for non smokers, I can only extend my deepest sympathy to
the many illnesses so many of you seem to suffer from no doubt brought on by the lack of a stress relieving ■■■. As for entering a non smoking vehicle, I do respect the drivers wishes and
complete the journey as quickly as possible returning to my own Temple soonest. Must dash, off ski-ing to suffer all that fresh mountain air and if your on the same mountain, the old age
pensioner that has just passed you going flat out will be me, you can follow my smoke but I doubt you will be able to keep up. Can I add, looking at those pursuing a driving career, OBESITY
does seem to be a greater problem and climbing in an obese drivers cab one is met by the stench of sweat that has dripped down between his crack and on to the drivers seat, overpowering,
wipe your arse with wet wipes.
I wouldn’t smoke in the truck any more, partly because I share it with the day driver but mostly because I’ve got my smoking to the point where I’m happy to cadge a roll up off someone every six months or so and that does me. I occasionally share a joint with my brother or my dad, but again that’s fairly infrequent. It’s noticeable if someone’s smoked in “my” truck, but I wouldn’t make a big fuss about it or anything. If I lived in it it might be a different matter.
