Sleeping Bag Choices

Traditionally I have always gone for the ‘tube’ sleeping bag but I have noticed quite a lot either go for full size duvet’s or the duvet sleeping bag for use in trucks.

What do you use and why?

And the next bit of personal questioning, is when sleeping out in the cabs in your sleeping bag/duvet/whatever combination do you tend to wear things like tracksuit trousers/t-shirt or is it just :unamused:  bare skin  for most of your body…

Mods feel free to move this to another section if I’ve got it wrong but please don’t delete it :unamused: :unamused:

I had a night out this week and went for the sleeping bag tube variety with the above to keep me warm, although having already had the lurgy I suspect I was on a loosing wicket anyway :unamused: :unamused:

TIA for your answers

I have just used a bottom sheet and a duvet for over 20 years. I hate sleeping bags, they are easier to roll up all in one, pillows, sheets and duvet and easier to wash.

Never worn clothes in bed since I was about 10, hated the ferries because you feel like you have to wear pants when sharing a cabin with a stranger

Did my first night out this week and I found my sleeping bag was too synthetic and hot. Ended up just sleeping in pants. Will take a duvet next time.

Didn’t count on having to have the windows up to stop all the bees flying in so only had the roof vent open … which meant my freezer rattled it noise through the roof all night :frowning:

Double sleeping bag, open.
Boxer shorts and socks. Don’t laugh, but it’s much quicker to ‘do things’ if needed. When I parked up near Gwent not long ago, I heard something in the back of my Trailer, I’d left one door open and there was only some bags of powder or something like that left to deliver. Anyways, I jumped out of my bed with my ‘adapted’ walking crutch/stick thingy that I use as a ‘extra foot’ and ran out to see wtf was going on. This white van sped off, probably after seeing me semi naked holding a walking stick thing. Nothing had been touched regards the vehicle or load.
Always ready

Always a double or King size duvet, wrap it round you in winter to keep warm, I can’t stand the night heater going all night, it makes me feel like have had 10-12pints the night before.
And in Summer it’s easy to kick off if you get to warm.
Me, in bed, I wear chanel No5 and a smile  :sunglasses:

:open_mouth: Is this purely for research, or are you about to set up a "specialist website

Thank you for your honest and frank views

I ended up using a sleeping bag that wasn’t even mine because when I arrived at the site at 0430 on Thursday morning found I’d forgotten mine. Daft pillock :frowning:

But there is a first time for everything…

I always use a sheet over the bunk and use a single duvet, a sleeping bag is to constricted, in the summer i prefer to stick my legs out to keep cool and then be able to cover myself back up when it gets cooler in the early hours of the morning.

Sheet on the bottom and duvet… Never used sleeping bag too confined

Camping mat on top of the bunk and a king size quilt folded over with half under me, sleep better in the truck than at home

Sleeping bag? :open_mouth: :open_mouth: You’re on a night out, not [zb]ing camping.

Double or king size duvet folded in half, lie on one half with other half over me, get a decent one and you will hardly need the night heater as you aren’t getting any cold coming up from under the bunk. Personally I don’t wear anything at night whether home or away.

You wrap your bottom in a sheet? Is it like a turban?!

Ditto.
Even though I`m generally a day driver, I always carry a huge bag in the boot of my car just in case its needed containing:
1x Double duvet & cover (used as described above)
1x single fitted bottom sheet (Stretched over the mattress, this helps to keep the duvet clean, should the bunk be in a slightly dirty state)
2x standard pillows & pillow cases
1x single flat sheet (this can be used in summer when it gets too hot to be wrapped up in the duvet)

The bag also contains, at least 1 complete change of clothes & work clothes, a towel, & wash kit

Cotton sheet on the bunk then a his and hers(half is 14 tog other half is 7 tog) king size duvet. I’ve found king size are slightly longer, and at 6"8 And 26 stone It covers slightly more of me. I actually tuck half of it under the mattress keeps the cold out in the winter then. I also sleep naked otherwise my large testicles get sweaty!!!

i also hate the night heater, i’d prefer to wrap up in the quilt

As an alternative, has anybody tried one of these?

musucbag.com

They were mentioned in Commercial Motor fairly recently, so I wondered whether anybody on here has any feedback about them?

Not much good for work unless you can get them in hiviz glowing colours.

I imagine that you would soon get christened a Tellytubby.

I also think the name could get confused, Do you sell mucus bags?
