Anybody else noticed a sharp increase in the number of HGV skid marks on single carriageways since Monday?
I saw a massive one in South Wales earlier this week that suddenly appeared but I think that was just a wheel locking up. Followed a tanker down a duel track too the other day and one of the wheels on the trailer kept locking up, massive cloud of white smoke by the time he pulled into the petrol station to check it out
I generally use the same roads every week (I’m a one trick pony with a proper job) and most of the good corners I reguarly visit are (since Monday) now adorned with black streaks of panic.
I have been changing my undies twice a day since Monday

I bet the amount of shot loads has increased too.

Should it make any difference cos how many trucks stuck to 40 before (trolley dollys excluded) ?

I have heard of two this week in our company / area alone…
Some people just don’t think…

I did… roughly… most of the time.

Exaggerating, much?
I don’t see what the problem is with the increase in speed, I have had no problems on single track roads, just read the road ahead, surely that’s what an experienced driver should do
It’s our old trailers, I’ve given up defecting them because the management won’t do anything about it, so I’m locking up everywhere I go.
Hopefully there won’t be any tyres left soon, then I haven’t got to worry about them anymore. [emoji57]
Maybe the road being dry all week they have been more noticeable.
As long as its not you making the marks, why do you care?
