Mr Vain no longer has fog lights!!! It does however now have driving lights in the bumper. The fog lamps no longer contain halogen bulbs. Yes in the past i have been very guilty of driving with them on, no more.
On a slightly different tack, would/could someone explain why anyone should need any excuse to have their lights on at any time? I fail to understand the issue.

Yes,when the ignition is turned off the lights default to sidelights so as to save the battery, but it ought to be possible to wire the vehicle so it is impossible for it to be driven with anything other than full headlights.Also it should not be possible to drive with sidelights and front fog lights.
In Iceland, where I lived for five years, all vehicles must have headlights on whether it is day or night. All cars there are wired so that the headlights come on with the ignition, so it can easily be done I would imagine, probably at the main dealers when the cars are sold new.

If he couldn’t see 14’ 1" then I doubt he’d see 4 little red lights in each corner
