Waitrose Shunter driver escorted off the premises for threatening behaviour towards his FLM…
And…
Sorry I’m a bit long in the tooth strictly old school.
What on earth is someone’s FLM?
And in other news, it’s raining here…

Front Line Manager I would say although the OP’s post is sketchy at best. What depot, what circumstances, what evidence etc.

WOW!
Ahh. Thanks sarge. Just call him the transport manager everwhere I’ve worked. Even at Sainsbury’s and when I was a shunter he was just the transport manager.
Who invents these titles?
Not sure too many of them deserve the title Transport Manager any more.
Those we knew of old and had our love/hate relationships with knew the industry inside out and at least as much about every aspect of the job as the people they lorded over.
The new breed do not compare in most cases.
If a worker has really lost it and threatened an office clerk, then he’s threatened himself straight out of a job with no chance of a reference.

Was this at the same place you didn’t get the job?
I’ve worked for a company recently and the transport manager couldn’t even drive a car never mind a wagon I didn’t care less but the lads that have bin driven years hated it what do you lot think …

I was Agency Driver for a few weeks!!!
I’m lucky really. Only ever worked for about three firms that were big enough to have a TM. Usually just straightforward boss. My current employer is a large multi national but the TM is a decent enough bloke.
I’ve done agency work in the past at a different depot and I know some who work full time and they don’t use the title FLM??
FLM don’t mean he /she is a transport manager … Front line managers are o the front line, could be a W/house bod or a manager that’s on a production line the TM could well be under a FLM … just like the ranking structure in the forces.
