Should I take the truck out

Swindons magic roundabout, would not want to take a LGV test on that in rush hour?

My mate, just text me, been nicked for using reverse gear, and not having a safety certificate to go back wards, how much is the fine,i may have to bail him out,he is in tears as we speak, poor lad.VOSA saw him with binoculars on top of the hill over looking Jewson`s.

I would add the use of full SCUBA gear in case your lorry should end in a canal or river that you are passing, make sure the air tanks are switched on before the wagon rolls over and wear your hi-viz under water so the fire man can see you.
An orange flasing light would suffice too,a water proof one.

Make sure you’re inside the “Bubble-Wrap” otherwise how can the whole sheebang operate■■?

if hes inside the truck he can’t wrap can he! We’re not thinking this through

 FTFY
Then if he wraps it from outside the truck he can’t take it out…eh?

To be honest, he shouldnt even be attempting to bubblewrap himself. Not unless he has his Certificate of Bubblewrap Competance, and if he has it should be current and up to date. It needs to be renewed every year so that bubblewrappers are aware of any updates in bubblewrap legislation and technology. I consider myself a professional and paid for mine out of my own money, it’s no wonder the public have such a negative image of bubblewrappers at the moment, just think of the danger to the public of some unprofessional and improper bubblewrapping. I overtook a truck the other day, a corner of his bubblewrap sheet was loose and flapping in the wind, outrageous. If he hadn’t turned off I’d have stopped and give him some advice. In the future I’m hoping to become a member of the Guild of Master Bubblewrappers, then I’ll really be able to earn some serious cash. The sooner the industry cleans itself up and gets rid of these cowboy bubblewrappers the better.

Funny you have mentioned that, but only last week,i had to have 7 hours lecture on bubble wrappiness, free coffee on the day,but the lad did go on a bit and kept repeating himself,we were issued with ear defenders in case the class wold sue them at a later date for going deaf for popping the bubbles.
It will on the DCPC course from April 2013,by Eu law,para 14 to 19 b,section b,safety at work,columnns 5 to 33.

Did your free coffee have “CAUTION,CONTAINS HOT LIQUID” on the mug ■■?
If not, then I’m afraid that your DCPC will be invalid, and you’ll have to do the whole lot again

Well my truck is quite big and heavy and there’s lots of people and other vehicles on the roads and I could probally do a lot of damage if I hit something. Do you think I should risk driving on the road or should I just stay in the yard until the firm get all people and vehicles cleared off the route just incase.

If you work for stobarts  YES :sunglasses: they’re the only ones who can use the motorway every 4 seconds! :grimacing:

dont worry ive chalked your tyres so you cant

Don’t forget to wear your hi viz while driving. How on earth will anyone else see the lorry if you are not wearing one

. . . and when you’ve taken on-board all this advice please remember that you should only take your dangerous lorry out at night time - when all the normal folk have got home safely!

Stan

I dont think the big mean and nasty lorry should leave the yard, without written permission from the secretary of the state,Bev Bell and Sarah Bell should insist on that too.

After careful consideration I have decided its safe to take it out if it is covered in bubble wrap a steel roof is fitted to the tipper body I don’t go under a bridge that is less than 3 feet higher than the truck and I put my bank card in instead of my digi card. I of course will wear a high viz whole driving at all times and wear a Bluetooth ear peice for communication at all times. I hope this doesn’t upset scanialady142 in the process.
No risk assessment was carried out this is just from info posted on trucknet this week.

I have not seen the truck on the road yet, keep us posted.

Give us a chance I’m still bubble wraping it

Thank you that was the plan I fit in perfectly with some of the other posters now. Anyway must dash Ive got to see if my blockbuster membership card works in the digi tacho.

And I’ve got a dangerous day cab thank god it ain’t an axor driving one of them is up there with trying to defuse a bomb while wearing boxing gloves.

Never mind about that, KR79, if you live in a house stay in bed; The stairs are more than 1.2m high so you’re at risk of the working from height regs.

I don’t know, more people die in bed than anywhere else, hospitals come a close second, be very careful, it’s a dangerous world out there

I hear if you drive an artic the Trailer legs can be very dangerous.
