Should face covering be banned?

For several years when on the beach I see the women bathe fully clothed in the sea when the husband or boyfriend just stands there in his swimming trunks, the lady has to stand up for ages to dry off.

In the Middle East they have hotel swimming pools that are for women only and it’s surrounded by a 15 metre high concrete wall so the men can’t see them having fun in the pool.

I believe France has laws on face covering, is it in schools, I can’t remember, then the subject of cctv and the face covered to identify a potential perpetrator or a male wearing a Burka to conceal his identity?

I don’t know about enforcement, but I believe there is a ban on all conspicuous religious symbols in all public owned buildings in France. That includes face coverings in schools. French law on secularity and conspicuous religious symbols in schools - Wikipedia

Cheers Franglais.

Quite right, and school teacher friends of mine say that the ban even includes necklace crucifixes as well, so it isn’t anti-Islamic at all.

As to the question, and apart from the religeous reasons, I do think that both the Niquab and the Burka should be banned in public, for security reasons, after all I don’t think I could wander into a bank, for instance, wearing a full balaclava without there being some comment, to say the least.

But what do the bikers amongst us say on the matter? Do they always keep the full crash hat on when walking around, and especially in sensitive places, as above?

Back in the 80’s I wore a fullface crash hat into a bank. One of the tellers recognised me and shouted to take my hat off before she hit the panic button.

Ah, but that was because she recognised you,
But I think you might have answered my question, no face coverings in banks allowed.

Ah ! Yep…But my overdraught was probably paying her a nice bonus.

I haven’t noticed them lately but there used to be signs banning face coverings on bank entryways. Maybe they are there still there or maybe I just no longer take notice?
If I ever find a bank open I will let you know.

I’ve never noticed either, but I would be very surprised if it was allowed.

Yes face coverings should be banned in public places.

There should be no place in the UK for the burqa or niqab even on religious grounds, any practice that does not fit in with our way of life should not be tolerated, and that includes halal and kosher slaughter houses and sharia courts.

Off hand apart from face coverings that are worn for safely or medical reasons I cannot see any reason to be wearing a full face covering in places where the public are allowed so they should be banned.

Will this ban be extended to the clowns on their moto cross and electric bikes doing wheelies and other stunts down the main road !!! Usually balaclava and no helmet

Don’t be silly and they won’t ban face coverings at demonstrations either.

It’s not about them being seen and recognised
There simply making a fashion statement and it’s against there human rights .
I’d rather they stopped all this kind of stuff instead of people wearing religious outfits etc.

Agree with all of that.
I have made my views on here about religion crystal, it is ALLprimitive bullcrap, but I do not see how a girl wearing a cross pendant is anywhere even close to offensive as a woman dressed up like a bad version of Batman in a burqa looking at you through a cloth letterbox…sorry but I DO find that offensive and a tad scary tbh.
It fits in nice in downtown Islamabad, not so much in the UK.
Some absolute clown on here who will remain nameless accused me of being racist in a lefty stylee, for saying I found white Brit women who dress in all this cack particularly offensive, and I still stand by that.

They did, about the only thing I agreed with him about.

Cheers Spardo.
