Just how hard did he brake for the load to shoot through the Bulkhead, and how strong is that Bulkhead
I bet they weren’t short of helpers clearing that lot up
" you were only supposed to blow the bloody BACK doors off…"
We drivers say ‘shed his load’, not ‘shot his load’: as this avoids any misunderstandings . Robert
That really is a money shot.
I bet the driver didn’t bank on that happening…
A spokesperson for Loomis said we haven’t lost any money, all the money is secure If the money had been secure it wouldn’t have come through the front of the trailer
hope they do them for a insecure load
Do the pictures make it look like there was one of those false bulkheads which has given way? Whatever, the headboard is nowhere near strong enough to hold the load, I can see Loomis having to hire in trailers for a while.
Wonder whether the driver left his own deposit too?
Definitely not a cheap shot.
Surely the old bill would have maybe an unmarked car with armed police following the truck discreetly behind for loads such as this? Imagine a tip off to a major criminal gang, the truck gets hijacked and the trucker gets beaten up or maybe worse.

How do you know there wasn’t They don’t normally advertise these movements
An armed discreet ■■■■■■ wouldn’t have stopped the insecure load shifting would it

Well yes I am aware they wouldn’t put a full page spread in the Swindon Chronicle advertising it and I wasn’t on about the load shifting. More of an armed criminal gang say forcing the truck off riad or come to a stop then taking off with the load.
The police were armed with ‘powerful’ rifles. What would they use the powerless ones?

not strong enough.
you can bet that load was NOT restrained them bins will slide nicely even with a full load in them

Criminal gangs wouldn’t even bother with something like this, £1m in coins? Too much hassle, they want easy pickings for quick returns.

they could have just pulled up at local supermarket, put it all in coin machine and do a bit of shopping and get cash back for any surplus
The cost of having an armed ■■■■■■ on every trip like this would far out way the risk of loosing it through a heist. They’d rather loose the million I suspect.
Let’s face it, a million is small change in the grand scheme of things.
It does seem OTT to call in armed police.
Cash is very heavy so I’d have thought the value versus weight problem would mean it is far less valuable than the same in notes?
Also it’s a random accident. Tooled up crims with a truck and a large gang to transfer all that heavy metal aren’t waiting in the wings nearby just in case a Loomis truck busts it’s headboard are they ?
A PCSO would have done.
That 5th picture looks like they aim to wire up those nuggets to give you a decent 24v bolt…
“Mits off my stash!”
Should not such a heavy load in any kind of container - be secured so that there’s no “slack space” in which to build up a slide in?
