SHEDS

All the trucks on the roads nowadays seem to be new supermegatrotterXL with new trailers ,where have all the sheds gone  does anybody still drive one or have vosa done away with um all:roll: :unamused:

I’ve gots him! shot my wedge with the v8 a while back so least I’ve tasted it.

my mate still run’s a k reg 143 on the boxes and it’ s very tidy.

E&E in Stoke are still running some EC11s on boxes which look to have been to the moon and back more times than they’ve seen a pressure washer.

Old scanias and volvos arent classed as sheds nowadays they are called classics  im on about the unit you got given when you were in the bad books and got it as punishment , :frowning: the dark green trucks run by swains seem to be sheds

is it a blue topline with a silver chassis parks it at birmingham truck stop ?

I bet the newest motor that Ernest Thorpe in South Yorkshire is about 20 years old.

Their drivers ain’t!! Most look about 70 with flat caps on with a woodbine in their mouths they look like that guy who used to blow chimneys up and stuff, probably has whippets or ferrets at home…

I think that about covers it!!

I guess it’s mainly to do with emissions and the London Low Emission Zone, can cost a fair old whack to take an old motor into the smoke.

Spotted a couple of relics in Zante over the last couple of weeks…still earning a few Euro

J Barratts from Oldham still run quite a few ERF and i must say they are all kept in excellent condition for their age by the owner. This is just one from their fleet.

My previous employer runs sheds, ex Leedale and Thames Materials. Someone in Newport runs sheds ex Earthline too. I suppose nobody closer to Swindon would as the only other place I’ve seen them are up the M6 around Stoke.

pentons run some old wagons. some really smart, some lit up like christmas trees and some that look ready for the scrap yard. trailers the same.

what cracks me up is seeing brand new units all blinged up but pulling the scabiest trailer you ever seen that has probably been on the road since jesus was a boy

Our 62 plate Renault Premiums, soooooo glad ive got the Merc back

I take it you work there Shugg?

As it happens I agree with you about Thorpes motors, they may be old but the standard of cleanliness and obvious mechanical care taken on them shames many 60+ plate fleet motors.
