So many ‘non smokers’ demanded cleaner pubs…then didn’t bother going there when it happened Doh!!!

Think you’ll find that was ex-smokers, not none-smokers

Not all of us though, I’m an ex-smoker and couldn’t give a toss whether people smoke or not as long as they don’t blow it into my face.

I smoke myself so I don’t mind others smoking in my cab as long as they do it with the window open. What I DO mind is on the odd occasion that someone else uses my lorry, they adjust my mirrors and seat. And last time someone else used it they slept in my duvet and used my pillow. BIG no no. Washed duvet and pillow cover and took back to work in my car then forgot to transfer back to lorry before a night out. Had to buy a whole new set of bedding grmbl grmbl

A lot are hypocrites though.

None smokers usually just get on with it, live and let live and all that, ex-smokers can be a right pain in the harris

Using a truck, you adjust mirror and seat to be comfortable and safe, so what if you’ve got to re-adjust them??

As for the bedding, I agree it’s a no no, was he on a night out? I think if someone is going to be nighting out in your truck, it’s only right that it should be emptied before, so they’ve got places to keep clothes, food etc.

I still wouldn’t have used your bedding, my sleeping bag would’ve gone on top of it though, I wouldn’t have moved it.

Yeah, ok adjusting mirrors and seats is no problem really. But don’t use another mans bedding. It’s like sharing a toothbrush :astonished:

Unless yer knocking off his missus…Then it can`t harm to use his toothbrush either…

Trouble is when you moan about someone smoking in your cab , they tend to smoke more to winde you up , best bet is have a friendley chat on the way out the gate , “childish I know” but it worked with me a few times on Brs , either that or you clean up all the ash and throw it over there car on a wet day . :open_mouth:

waynedl:
Smelly’s can trigger my Asthma, even those stick on timed smelly things, I have to turn them off, magic trees and the like seem ok, just the gaseous ones, too much perfume or deoderant can set it off too.

As others have said, open the windows for a bit, clean your ash up and all is good, really don’t see what the problem is, if someone doesn’t do that, then they’ve usually got other hygiene problems that would still have the cab stinking anyway, because they obviously don’t give a [zb].

I smoke, and I have Asthma, although the ■■■■ don’t bother me, it is magic trees, nail varnish remover and antiperspirants which trigger mine. This is more unusual as I drove a chemical tanker for many years and never suffered then, even with a full load of Acetone or IPA

When working in the motor trade we used to get cars in that people smoked in for 2 or 3 years and they were spotless, on the other hand someone may take a demonstrator a courtesy car out for one day and it would come back like a wet ashtray. Forget banning smoking, just ban dirty prats

Go on then, go and report him and see how you isolate yourself from every other driver.

called for a pint or two on the way home tonight.
Stood outside having a smoke with my pint and a few of the lads when the landlord came out.
pointless being in there, he said, every customer is stood ouside… the pubs empty.

That is normally the case round here, if you want a pint, you have to go outside to find some staff. My local pub has just closed down, and it was a very busy place when you could smoke, a proper bar with only packet snacks for food.

I miss pubs, the way they used to be.

People who have never smoked are generally OK. It’s people who once smoked but who have given up who are the problem, with their pious, sanctimonious, holier-than-thou attitude. And, these small-minded bigots are normally hugely overweight, having put on three stone since they stopped smoking. I am offended by the sight of Fatties, where are my rights?

when the light nights arrive, you`ll get folk moaning about smoking in beer gardens again  these people spend about 50 quid all year then expect everybody to jump when they say so

Another one who is a tool… :unamused:

If me, why so…I simply posted a fact not an opinion.

These have to be two of the most ridiculous posts on Trucknet-UK :unamused:

It’s certainly true that a small minority of ex-smokers get sanctimonious about the subject of smoking just like some people who have never smoked do, but to suggest that ex-smokers are responsible for everything that’s happened whilst people who have never smoked have played no part in the anti-smoking hysteria that now takes place boarders on the bizarre.

The truth is of course that many people who have never smoked and many ex-smokers will genuinely be in favour of the smoking bans just as many will genuinely be against them, most smokers are of course against the smoking bans but I’ve heard many say that it’s helped them to give up so even smokers have differing opinions on the subject.

I can only say that this not fat not pious or sanctimonious ex-smoker finds those posts too stupid for words to express :unamused:

Having said that I won’t be assuming that all smokers and all people who have never smoked share your attitudes, I’ll leave the “small-minded bigotry” to you :unamused:

OK, ok, just for you, I’ll add the words ‘In my experience’ to my quote.

But I’ve dealt with A LOT of people in my life, so it’s pretty good experience
