If there are any owner drivers or small hauliers thinking of selling up, then let me know.
A friend of mine signed a contract to shift a large amount of equipment over 24-36 months. There wasn’t any major pressure for the o’licence and new lorries to come. But they’ve brought the start date forward.
Subbing it out would be the obvious solution, but it’s not possible. It’s in the contract.

"A large of amount of equipment " in Limey land that translates that Phil has sold the Eifel tower to the Chinese for scrap metal and it will need shifting.
Breaking news; Over night the pyramids in Egypt were demolished and the stone blocks are missing.
A white ERF and Volvo FL10 were seen loitering in the area.
One cab had the advert “No job is too small” written on the side.
The other had Limey’s demolition ltd.
Reports indicate that about 130 Ford Transit vans with wooden “greedy” boards, were seen before the Pyramids were stolen.
The drivers all were wearing dealer boots and chequered lumber jack shirts.
Locals could not make out what they were talking about.Five camel dealers were approached and asked if they had any fuel for sale.

Toby’s attempt at humour has hoist him with his own petard. I not only understood his post but actually laughed.

No- a good accountant is one who tells you ( and HMRC) that you have traded unprofitably over the last year.

Really?
If you can manage that only using the standard (legal) deductions, then your accountant is probably telling the truth.
My goal is to claim as much as is legally possible and still give the tax man a large cheque. As I only pay tax on profits…
