Scrooge is alive

Wild Bean coffee cards are changing,
current cards give us a free coffee for every 5 we buy
new cards will require us to buy 7 coffees to get the free one…
as if times aren’t hard enough…

Go McDonalds instead.

I use Vikings Bistro, (part of Viking Industries) very reasonable priced coffee, soup, sarnies, salads & one pot stews.
No ‘Buy one get one free’ for me, it’s all free [emoji106] (after I’ve been to the Supermarket [emoji6])

I got fed up with the minging coffee in petrol stations so bought one of these.

Travel mug with a coffee press. Currently reduced in Amazon as well. Buy one of these and some ground coffee of your choice (I go for the strong hot lava Java stuff). I’ve never been refused hot water in any services I’ve stopped at unless it’s one with a night hatch only.

Saves you money, gets you nice coffee! If anyone on here buys one I’d recommend makkng the coffee in it but then pouring it into another travel mug so you don’t end up drinking the dregs. Also, it stays BOILING hot in that coffe press mug for over an hour. Tipping it into another travel mug tends to help it cool down to drinking temperature a bit quicker!

Anyone noticed that the amount of drink in a Costa Express cup has gone down over the past year or so? The machines used to fill your cup, but recently they’ve been changed so that there’s about a centimetre gap between the top of the drink and the top of the cup. Costa deny the machines have been fiddled with; some filling station staff say it’s in case you spill your drink. If so (and I’ve never scalded myself by getting a Costa latte on my hand - it’s nowhere near boiling), why don’t they reduce the price, or increase the cup size, rather than shrink the drink but not the price?

When unused to use the costa machines if get a large cup, press for the exspresso first then added my normal latte, that way it fills the cup and you can walk out with a smug grin knowing you’ve had extra for your money
Plus the double exspresso saw me through the long drive to aberaron

Why bother, just make a brew lot nicer and a hell of a lot cheaper,my mate who is a pensioner now moans about having no spare cash now and how badly off pensioners are,him and his wife go to Costa almost daily, told him don’t bother whingeing to me,■■■■■■■ pensioners.

If I’m tipping in central London , I use pret de manager if there’s one near , seems very reasonably priced for central london

Hammy747, if you have your own coffee maker, try the Jamaican Blue Mountains coffee, it’s the best taste ever.
I also put two or three free espresso shots then just pay for latte.
I remember the Dutch drivers in the 90s had huge coffee machines in their windscreens, not sure how they could see clearly .
Look out for the self service coffee for Costa and Starbucks in fuel stations, good Machiato and expressos and a good price, cheaper than the main shops in msa,s.

Coffee, my favourite subject.

If you are in a MSA, and there is a Costa/Starbucks, they are normally cheaper or the same price as the Costa Express machines. Also, fresh coffee is much nicer IMO.

If you are in a Roadchef, they have a 20% off voucher downloadable and printable from their website, they also have an app which is normally giving you £1 off a drink, or a free muffin with a coffee
Moto have an app, nothing spectacular for coffee, best to get an old AA card for 20% off everything in the services in Costa, WH Smiths, EDC, Burger King and 10% off at M&S
Also, Starbucks (Extra’s and Welcome Break) do a loyalty card, 1 free drink after 15 - not great, but if you were buying them anyway, its a free drink.
Costa also do a loyalty card which gives you 5% of your spends back, including at MSA’s
Wild Bean - £2.30 for a Large Coffee, or £3.25 for a Large Coffee with a Sausage or Bacon bap - All day (Not just brekkie) - also stamp card for 1 free after 5 (or 7 when cards run out)

McDonalds are cheaper than all of the above, loyalty stickers can also be bought from a well known auction site making them about 25p a cup  Otherwise about £1.75 I think

trubster,
