Scrooge is alive

I asked for a large latte at the BP garage I normally fuel up at in Irvine a few months ago. Woman serving me said they had ran out of large cups. Only regular cups left, but not to worry cos a large coffee will squeeze into a regular cup!!! Surely if it fits into a regular cup, its a regular coffee and not a large one like they charge you for.[emoji35]

The excuse is that the extra space in the cup is to avoid stupid people from pouring hot coffee all over themselves… yeah right.

(The same works with the take away machines mind   :grimacing:

I’ve never thought of doing that with the machines. I’m going to try that next time. Being Scottish, I’m up for saving myself a couple of pence here and there.[emoji23]

Good man. No better feeling (on the rare occasion that I buy a coffee in a service station), than plonking a 'small’coffee on the counter and knowing on THAT occasion, that they rip you off that little bit less than usual. Pack of coffee, £3 (makes what? 50 cups?), water to fill cup £pence, sugar to taste, another pence. Cup of coffee cost= £0.10? £0.20■■

Go figure.

Nothing wrong there. I have my stove in my truck. But every now and again, I like a wee treat from Costa or wild bean.
