hiya
Looking at this old Bristol, I seem to think the trailer is also a Bristol the only
thing wrong is that when new the tandem axle would would have had seagull
mudwings, If my brain is still working every new Bristol came complete with
two new trailers but I could be wrong on that one.
thanks harry long retired.

Harry, I don’t think that that is a Bristol Trailer but could be a Tasker of later vintage, only a guess…Tony

I believe the trailer is the correct Bristol model - I seem to recall reading an article about it in one of the comics which mentioned that a long search had eventually ended when they found the correct 7’6" width Bristol trailer, to match the width of the unit.

Yes and only 24’ long, later versions were 26’ and Harry is correct about the mudguards…Tony.

Hello again,No Bristols in todays selection Harry but a few good old 'uns which may have been similar to those you’ve driven in the past. :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Cheers Bubbs,

Love the pics today bubbs, Here’s a rarity that I used to drive, a day cab F10.

Volvo F10 Meadows transport.jpg

Here is another ex Allens of Banbury that went on to be Wallingtons of Chipping Norton

I had some photos of smiths bubbs, but b series that I took when I was a young un on holiday at Weymouth, they used to load off the quay, is that one at Weymouth, looks like the pravilion in the background, I’ll see if I can find them

Hi.yep dead right…Weymouth

Bubbs,

A few Bristol,s for Harry. Finding crawler gear on these could not have been easy as it was right across the other side of the gate.
A new Bristol trailer.

I only drove tankers, this would have been my effort at sheeting.

A full set of slicks on this one for it,s last journey

Cheers Phil

Pity the poor buggers driving those 2 - trying desperately to get a modicum of warmth out of the heaters. :frowning:

I never drove a Bristol, but all that cardboard certainly strikes a chord. :unamused:

hiya,
Pulled a drag with one like PXP the rad didn’t need much muffling up with a BRS issue
rad cover when you was fully freighted, tell you what after a full shift just running
out or back on non motorway roads you certainly whizzed that gearstick about a bit
and you was ready for bed at parking up time, but I was only young and there was a
nightlife to be had, but when I finally hit the sack I certainly didn’t need any rocking.
