Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

Congratulations on 200 pages Bubbs the first page I look at each evening some real Gems on here.

When I was a kid instead of investing my hard scrounged pocket money on “Spank monthly” I would cough up 2 bob for a copy of “Commercial Motor” or a "Motor Transport " .As they piled up in the corner of my bedroom my mum decided it would be a good idea to chuck them away,after the threat to leave home didn’t work a compromise was to cut out the bestist bits and create a scrapbook,the result of this was 1000’s of cuttings that ended up in a box. here are a few of them ,they may be of interest to someone. September 08 to April 11 !!! thats about 31 months,I think,but I ran out of fingers and toes!!! Congatulations Marcus I don’t think either the quality or the longevity of your thread will be surpassed! Best wishes and kind regards Dennis.

This ones for J. T. a shot of the “lightweight gang” delivering one of 3 portacabins to the depot in Milnthorpe from Bold nr,St. Helens.All Pickfords men were “funny people” and this old codger was no exception!!! said he was just on the “wind down” to retirement after spending all his time on the “heavy end”!!!

Hiya bubbs…200pages …brilliant…I’ve learned alot in the last 18 months thanks to you and all…
I’ve been in transport since i was 6 driving with my uncles and friends and on my own since 1972.
now going over your photo’s and snipets reminding me of lorries/company’s that have come
and gone and all the places i’ve been. THANK YOU…dont stop now just relax the pace a little.

My motor when I worked for the Wild Group when she was brand new.Certainly was a step up from an Atki Borderer.

Congratulations Bubbs, the best thread ever, you’ve made each of us a scrapbook, the preceeding 200pages cover my life in lorries, thank you and please don’t stop, there is no such thing as a bad picture of a lorry :wink:

:wink: Hello lads,Well, I didnt expect all those kind remarks…I came in from work about 1am and went upstairs and Mrs Bubbs was sending big ZZZZeds out of the bedroom,I thought “sod that,” and I went and fired up the PC…and hit the thread,page 201.Well when I read all the posts they took up the whole page :open_mouth: :open_mouth: …Lads I thank you all.
So to celebrate the passing of page 200 heres a big dose :smiley: .Thanks to Phil for his last lot of pics also :wink:
