Thats my sentiment as well, keep em coming Bubbs no problem. Weve all seen worse on the roads

No offence from my point of view Bubbs, in fact some good is more likely to come from showing and remembering some of these, I know if I see a particular bad one on the road, it has the effect of at the very least backing off a couple of Ks, and/or thinking about my next reaction to something maybe differently, so keep them coming and if anybody doesn’t like them…simple, don’t look.

Only my personal viewpoint but do you not think that the theme of showing results of accidents should now end - I am sure that within all these pictures some poor souls either lost their life or were seriously injured. That we somehow derive some form of entertainment from them just seems a little unhealthy. As I said at the beginning - just my point of view.

Those accidents shows how lucky we were to survive in those flimsy old day-cabs & yet we would boot them full out on winding national roads. For instance ,I would do 65 in a clapped out, gutless BRS Leyland Comet with vacuum brakes & only 56 in the latest state of the art Merc on M/ways in later years.
Personally I enjoy looking at the accident pics, I just think we have to be thoughtful about what we post. I’m sure they’ve all been in the public domain before and yes it’s true people suffer but every picture tells a story and I learn a lot historically from them. So why don’t we post them in a seperate folder and then those that don’t enjoy them can avoid them if they wish? However I will go with the flow.
Hi again,I totally understand whats been said on both sides of this topic,I wont put any more accident shots on because there are some real nasty ones and any way theres only a handfull left.
Lets press on now and get back to “complete” lorries…these were sent to me by Brian Edgar for us to look at,they were taken by Alan Anderson
I like to see how well the various types of vehicle have stood up to the accidents, but thinking about the victims… Best that all of these type of photos are kept in the same place, so as not to cast a morbid pall over the happy stuff elsewhere.
On the subject of those collapsible Atkinson cabs, there is a thread somewhere on the forum showing an Atki advert claiming that they were safer that way, that the driver stood a better chance if he could somehow contrive to be thrown clear of a crash. What a nasty little lie that was. While all the other makers were trying to make their cabs/cars/tractors/buses as strong as possible, these jokers were saying you were better off on a motorbike.

I think you are wrong on a lorry drivers forum. We had a similar debate a couple of years ago when two Horst Poppel tankers were involved in a fatal in Belgium, the majority voted for showing the pictures to remind drivers of their mortality.
We see the real thing day in and day out on the roads after all.
I think Bubbleman chose this one especially for you.
