I am sure most lorry drivers can look at accident photos without any qualms. I can understand some outsiders may look on them as being a bit goolish. The same people would also probably refuse to come for a ride over the icy fog shrouded Mendips to the south coast with seven thousand gallons of petrol for company. Another driver would likely say lets go for it then.
In the same way I would prefer not to look at photos of animals being slaughtered for food although I am not a veggie. Someone in the job would I imagine be happy to look at them while eating a ham sandwich.
Here is an accident that has not happened yet and hopefully didn.t. This gutless flat bed Thames is towing this seven ton bus to a scrapyard at Sherburn In Elmet in 1966.

Only my personal viewpoint but do you not think that the theme of showing results of accidents should now end - I am sure that within all these pictures some poor souls either lost their life or were seriously injured. That we somehow derive some form of entertainment from them just seems a little unhealthy. As I said at the beginning - just my point of view.
B,Waddy .I can see that some folks may find the photos of the realy bad and fatal ones upsetting ,but they dont have to veiw them .I remember in the late 60 /70s the Police had a compound long side Toddington services on the M1 that could be clearly seen from the motor way, that was full of cars &comercials ,that all had been in fatal accedents idea was to frighten you and make you slow down .Did it work,Dont think so any one remember .yours Barry Waddy

ainacs : Do you know where that firm came from? only I remember a “Tidy” (but don’t recall those initials,) being on contract for the winter of '62/3 to Shell at Thame depot. they had a couple of Scammells on there, dark green, with there own tanks. I remember the name above the cab but no decals on the side, I believe they came from the West Midlands,.

I guess you know that MUL 562 is still alive and well?
WHilst we are on Old Motors still alive,
My Dad started a haulage business back in the 60’s and had an S type Bedford - Reg TTR 119

Nope - had no idea, tell me more - I am sure Uncle Joe will be thrilled to hear about her!
Somewhere on my old PC at home, I have a pic of it on the fairground with Benson’s, but it’s been restored many years now, though it has changed hands a few times…
