The watermarks dont bother me one bit, just keep them coming, its great seeing so much stuff from yesteryear . Me thinks Basil Bush is being rather petty!!!

I didn’t intend upsetting you Bubbleman, I thoroughly enjoy your work the same as many obviously do, I also didn’t realise people had been selling your photos.
BB
With or without the copyright ,do whatever you wish Bubbleman, I will still look at everyone with interest and Good memories ,thanks
the first picture in this latest batch…what would be the story behind that seddon in army green and with usa stamped on it ?
This would most likely be a vehicle used on one of the US camps in this country, they would have been purchased here to save bringing them over from the States, probably hasn’t done a lot of work and the mileage will be low. I can understand what was said about the copyright markings and reading his post he wasn’t really moaning just pointing out there seemed to be a lot of it happening now. He probably didn’t realise these jokers were selling them on E-bay and by the way the markings can be over done by using a paintshop programme if they really want to go to the trouble which isn’t a lot for someone who wants make a quick buck. We see the same happening with model trucks, gash builds and kits being sold for silly prices. You have to blame the fools that buy these things too though, they think they are getting a bargain, you can buy a copy of Classic Commercial Vehicles for less than a Fiver a Month, chocker with pics and articles of oldies. Franky.
Hi Marc,
Thanks for putting us straight on Ducks, do you have any pics of the Du Haul Fodens or Walsam that you could put up.
Cheers Mark
ainacs:
Hi MarcYou should be the one who is profitting from these pics so carry on and if you like put a bigger watermark on them I will still enjoy your posts
hiya,
Snap.
thanks harry long retired.
Hi lads,Sorry I got the soap box out…I’d just spoke on the phone to Truckerash and this “person” had pics from both he and I up for sale on e-bay…this as you can imagine is a bit annoying to say the least, however its not the first time its happened and I dont suppose its the last.
I have put some of my pics on e-bay with some of my good pal Adrian Cyphers,to be honest they sold well…it was only an experiment to generate a few bob to boost up Ades pension but we weren’t ripping no-one off,it was our stuff and we held the copyright to them.
I understand the watermark is annoying and yes it can be took off by paintshop but it does make it harder to get a clean pic to sell on,Basil Brush only voiced his personal opinion and probably spoke for a lot on here who think the pic is spoilt by it…I know he meant no harm by it…Its a bleeding time consuming job to scan, resize then post the pics but I dont mind sharing my pics but the watermark has to stay
Walsams and Ducks Haulage tomorrow RC2…ok
Cheers Bubbs.
Bubbs. I have thousands of my own snaps that would sell on ebay. How do I watermark them & then deliver them without the watermark? Advice appreciated.
May have answered my own Q - you sell prints.
Fairplay to you Bubbleman, keep putting your security mark on the pictures, it dosnt spoil them too much if you only want to look at them on the forum, Its nice that you take the time to scan and share all these pictures with everybody, thanks.
roadcommander2:
I think the Ducks have had a few transport enterprises including Walsam Transport.
A chap called Pip Duck was the gaffer I seem to remember.I think they may have also been involved in Du Haul in the late eighties with Foden eight wheel tippers and I believe Pip Duck had a T cab series 2 Scania at one time.
Were they also involved in Evercreech Commercials with a restored 110 Scania tractor unit and Im thinking a customised 2 or 3 series wrecker?Over to you West Country boys to put me straight!
Mark
hi mark rc2 , i believe this is the scania 110 (wyb 216m) you mentioned , once owned by waters bros of the new forest for a good while , before finding its way back to somerset , the truck is still about , but in a very poor state , cheers
hi marc bubbleman , would you happen to have any pictures of this scania 110 (wyb 216m) in sparks colours ? , as they ment to have owned it from new , cheers
Hi Bubbs
Re watermarking;
They’re your photos so I think you should carry on watermarking them.
If I ever wanted one I’d rather give you the money for it. Keep up the good work.
Stupot
I can’t help thinking that if no-one put on copyright and watermarks etc then everything would be freely available and no-one would be buying these pictures anyway.
Hello again, good pics pdw,the only shot of a 110 of Sparks I’ve got is XYA157M…The only advice I can give Harry to help him watermark his pics is to get Paintshop onto his PC,I play with all the pics I put on here…its surprising how a crappy pic can be tweeked up.The watermark is quite easy to put on once you have this tool.
Roadcommander2 ask for some pics from Mendip hauliers Walsams and Ducks/Du-Haul…although they look like the same company they are 2 different firms

Bubbs,
Thanks for posting those pics, the Ducks ran good looking wagons.
Are they still running any?
Cheers
Mark
Theres a Renault Premium wagon and drag pulls blocks out of Marleys at Beenham - Thats got Walsam on it - driven by Pip Duck - Well it was in January when i went out to it with flat batteries
Steve
Ref copyrighting your photos - i don’t blame you if others are selling them - Can you not report the sellers to e-bay
Steve
I would just like to endorse what the majority of the responses have been regarding the watermarks / copywrite info.
For me, they do not spoil my enjoyment of the pictures and if there was a particular picture that I wanted a “clean” copy of then I would rather buy it direct from the photographer.
Keep em coming
regards
Spud1960
