Pebbles 74:

Hello again, hey some good pics from Gazz and 3300John…keep 'um coming boys.

Hope these are ok.

Cheers Bubbs,

I remeber there being quite a few of this configuration around at one time.

Partridges from Devon had one on Livestock. IIRC they were not the best when it came to going around corners. Think they had a nasty smash with theirs?

Andrew

pebbles 74 you were right about partridges having a FL10 like Langdons also correct about having a big accident . it happened on the A303 I believe around Ilminster area , the driver was Dave Pollard who as a fleet of lorries from Crediton. the driver of the car was killed i believe it was a suicide . partridges sold it shortly after being repaired . thanks ANNIES PRIDE.

It’s nice to see the Ducks haulage Scania 6x2 again, that went on to have another working life with Ron Bishop & Son after Ducks sold it.

BB

I appreciate people wanting to retain the copyright of their photos but I must say they’re not so enjoyable when they’re obliterated by the marks. Is there a reason why we’re seeing more & more of that these days.

Hiya…the reason is that people are downloading photo,s off this site and selling them on E bay for a fiver a time.
if you go to a show you will see folk with boxes and boxes of nicked photos that belong to other people.
blame them not us.

I remember them in the truck mag. Weren’t they called Walsham then?

Heres one from way back Mr Clark from Kirkgunzeon SW Scotland.

I think the Ducks have had a few transport enterprises including Walsam Transport.
A chap called Pip Duck was the gaffer I seem to remember.

I think they may have also been involved in Du Haul in the late eighties with Foden eight wheel tippers and I believe Pip Duck had a T cab series 2 Scania at one time.
Were they also involved in Evercreech Commercials with a restored 110 Scania tractor unit and Im thinking a customised 2 or 3 series wrecker?

Over to you West Country boys to put me straight!

Mark

Some more from the Tanker Ian Archives, the boy is on a roll.

Hello again, nice feedback on the Ducks,as far as I’m aware Colin ran Ducks Haulage/Du Haul and his brother Pip runs (still going) Walsam haulage.Pip was the subject of a Trucking International article way back when the mag started.I have always got on great with both of the lads, always ready to talk deisel too.

ERFs today…I know there seems to be loads of ERFs lately but the box is handy and I’m too lazy today to go searching :unamused:

Somebody moaned about the copyright on the pics…go and have a look on e-bay Scania 111 photos. Some “person” has a dose of Truckerashs pics up for sale ,one lots going for £10.50 at the minute,Ash thinks theyve all come off t/net.
If everyones unhappy about the watermark then let me know…I wont mind stopping putting them up…ok

Cheers Bubbs,

I have had my pictures sold on e-bay as well Bubbleman (but when I put them on myself I can’t get a buyer). There are only 2 ways to stop them as far as I can see, either de-face them as in printing something across them or don’t put them on the web. Personally I would put the copyright a lot bigger but I would rather see them overprinted than not at all so carry on I say. I’ve meant to say thanks for a long time because I love your photos and as you were taking them back before digital it must have cost you a fortune. I take loads now but it costs nothing once the gear is bought. Wish I had taken them years ago when I always had a camera in the wagon but hardly ever used it.

David

the first picture in this latest batch…what would be the story behind that seddon in army green and with usa stamped on it ?

you carry-on just as you are Bubbs, everyone has a right to protect their own!..chris

The watermarks dont bother me one bit, just keep them coming, its great seeing so much stuff from yesteryear . Me thinks Basil Bush is being rather petty!!!

Seconded! Please keep thse pics coming, Marc, for all those of us who have been in the industry for years and hardly took any pics…

Keep posting the pics Marc, this is the most interesting thread by far.The sheer amount of different vehicles of all ages and parts of the country are amazing. When I learn how to do it I will copyright mine as well.
Cheers Dave.

I thought just the same at Gaydon this year; Bet the sellers seen them on truckspotters websites…
Who buys pics for a fiver a time? Surely you get more satisfaction knowing you took them yourself…

Hi Marc

You should be the one who is profitting from these pics so carry on and if you like put a bigger watermark on them I will still enjoy your posts

The C-reg ERF of Meechers is still running; I saw it recently, still looks good.
