Not sure if it helps your problem, but whilst building websites for our racing club, my PC memory was getting blocked up with images, so what I do is email them to myself and save the attachments as 640x480, it reduces the file size from around 1 or 2 MB to 65 or 70kb

Chris Webb must be having the same problem as I was looking for something he had posted earlier

Thanks but I just forgot to resize them before I uploaded them on Tinypics. Don’t understand this bandwith lark but be glad when I can put pics back on Photobucket, I don’t like Tinypics you can only transfer one picture at a time to T/net took ages to put the 14 pics on.

Hi John,
It doesn’t cost much to upgrade to pro on photobucket, that’s what I did,it gives you unlimited bandwidth then.
Cheers Dave.

Hello again, heres a few more of my old pics.

Awful shot but the long suffering Mrs Bubbs wanted to have a go at the camera, but the pics shows exactly how it was…cabbing it in day cabs,an F86 is not the most comfortable cab to kip in. …Canons Marsh lorry park,Bristol, june '75.my old Cortina sneaks into the shot

Bristol haulier Billy Downton ran an assortment of artics mainly ex BRS stuff,he splashed out and got this 110 which is seen outside the yard in Feeder Road.

Overnighting in Bristol this Glasgow based 110 is parked on waste ground in Bedminster.

Another Unkles parked with his mate with an early 2800.

One of Baylis’s Mandators at their Pucklechurch depot.

All dressed up for the middle east run, this 2800 takes a rest between trips.

Hope you think theyre ok.

Simply a legend you are bubbs mate, some tops old pick again. I’m in the process of scaning all my old photos,I started in '84 I’ll stick some up when I get time.
Keep them coming mate

This is one of the first truck photos I’ve ever taken. I took it at christmas time 1984 with my new disc camara that I got as a present from ‘Boots’ the chemist. Jease Bubbs you thought you early pics were bad mate, disc camaras had to be one of the most shocking for crap/grainy photos.
I’m not sure where Hatton’s were from, was it Cullompton? in Devon. I reckon this old banger was once a tractor unit. Do you have any better pics of this motor Bubbs?

Hi Jamie, good pic for the first go,I reckon this is the same lorry you put on,I’m sure its the same reg…look at the bodywork.

Keep your oldies coming mate.

Cheers Bubbs.

bubbleman:

One of my favorite welsh fleets, sadly missed,Davies’s Crusader on Aust services.

Gloucester lorry park again,1 of 3 BSC Crusaders parked there,I’ll put the others on another day.

S.A.Bells “B” series parked overnight Bristol docks.

Yeah mate, your on to it,thanks, great photo it has to be the same motor. Years ago I got a magnifiying glass and tryed to make out the reg,on the back I wrote CJE 678R,but with it being so grainy I couldn’t really make it out. I see now that it is LUE 678P. Where and when did you take it? And who did it belong to do you know mate?
Have a good weekend. Cheers Jamie

i disagree too - 99% of them are gold, the remainder just very interesting, keep up the fine work marcus

while i’m here, does anyone remember an ad in the truck mags in the early 80s, either for leyland or rolls-royce, featuring a firm with light blue motors which i’m sure said “pen-y-groes, cross hands” - it’s just out of curiousity as my mother moved there recently but I didn’t seen any haulage firms or block makers around there when I visited this week

if there to crap mate why copyright them they cant be that bad

I would put them on my site any day Bubbs and I think anyone else with a lorry photo site would, pure nostalgia. You shouldn’t underestimate yourself.

Hi Marc,
Powys Transport are still about, they come from a place called Trewern near Welshpool in Powys. Haven’t seen anything of Evans & Williamss from South Wales,in fact I had forgotten about them.
I fully agree with all the other comments, your pics are worthy of any site.
Cheers Dave.
