There’s a good chance that one or both of Sams’ old tow wagons will be at the Smallwood Rally in Cheshire next weekend. Always a good turnout of Fodens and ERFs, in fact a very good all-round show.

Hiya…me and the old girl (my DAF) will be there. stacks of mates so hope you’ll find us. Tetragaz lives close so i expect he’ll be there. If the weather stays like this weekend we may spend longer in the beer tent. but that will be OK…Only sheltering from the sun hmmm.
John.

Hello Chris Geoff Bird died of cancer at 49, although his brother and sister worked at the firm, it was a one man band when it came to running it. The firm was liquidated
and everything sold off at auction on November 21st 1974.

I do remember them very well John,I didn’t realise they packed up in 1974. I wonder if Wm Armstrong are still going from Longtown, they had cattle transporters as well and they ran a really nice fleet.

The ad for the sale of the Freightliner AECs @ Keynsham - they were still going a while back wasnt they - tied in with Curries of Dumfries ?

G’day Fellas,
Bubbs mate you were talking about not seeing too many Volvo FL10’S anymore, there are still quite a few in Western Australia. I took these a couple of weeks ago when I was over there.

Yep a wendy house on Road Train work! Well kind of this one was pulling empty boxes around the wharfs of Fremantle,I can’t see it pulling loaded boxes can you?

This one looks more likely for Road Train work, but I don’t reckon she’d pull more than one trailer usually. Looks the part though.
Cheers Jamie
