Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

hiya,
A pal of mine arrived back at his motor one midwinter morn to find his motor had frozen up, the diesel was prone to turning to jelly in those days, he got the idea of getting a bit of fire going below the engine he found an old car tyre stuffed it with rags and some engine oil and set it alight having tied a rope round the tyre first the fire quickly got going and he decided to drag the inferno from below, yes the rope had burnt through and in quick time so had the plastic shedded ERF, and he was’nt given his marching orders but was given the title of depot idiot which he had to live with for a long time.

3300John:
The chap with the 8 legger Foden(William Sharp)looks a bit smug, I would think he should have about 12/15 tons on that Foden. Well I’ve done a few loads of
aggregate and unless thats burnt lime he must have 20+ tons on that old girl (poor thing)
John

I thought that as well when I saw it, I recon he’s got 2 loads on there saving diesel.

That back tyre certainly looks like the load might be profitable :stuck_out_tongue: or maybe just how the truck is stood officer.

Otherwise there are some amazing pictures in that last batch too,

Hi
I like that old Scammell(DDW6?5C) but to think you could buy a Ford custom cab in the same year. What at Scammell was they playing at. I will admit the Scammell Is perhaps still running around, Or at Sid Harrisons and possibly twice the value it was new and a 1965 Ford long gone.Stunning photos.
John.

A few more to help the thread along.

WOW look at that mk5 AEC I drove some like that at Adams butter fast was’nt in it( They had twin headlights for night trunks and looked stunning).
Thet Merc looks nice and compact a bit dated now. I would like that in preservation thats a show stopper.
John

flatman001, you are doing Marc proud with those pics,he’s going to have a nice surprise when he gets back online.
Cheers Dave.

That old Bristol’s so back heavy the front wheels are almost in the air. Is that where the old saying light steering came from.

hiya,
Drove a double of that Bristol mostly pulling a drawbar, that method of loading was known “power steering conversion” much needed when pushing/pulling a trailer about the motor was 100% reliable, but heavy on the handlebars you’ve gotta believe it.

Here`s a few pics from years ago i took as a youth just to keep the post going untill the main man makes his return

Harry, have a look here: paulanderson.fotopic.net/c1725443.html

Bubbleman has sent me a message by carrier pigeon to inform me that due to all the pictures he has downloaded from his computer onto the scrapbook it has packed in.

He will be off line for a while until he gets things sorted.

He said when he switches on his screen saver comes on and that is all.
No icons or internet connection nothing what so ever to click on just an empty screen.
He and a couple of friends have tried everything but to no avail.

Gets to screensaver■■? Do you mean desktop pic? That means your PC is starting and so is Windows, but Explorer isn’t. That almost certainly means its hanging waiting for something. Have you installed anything new just before hang up?

Have you tried run/explorer.exe? (I’m assuming Windows XP here, noone in their right mind went for Vista lol)

Want to give me a call, email me for a mobile number, truckmodeller@aol.com, I’m a systems helpdesk engineer nowadays

PS as bad luck would have it I’m out of town Friday 6th to Monday 9th

Here`s a few scanned from books
