The Ware Transport Renault was driven by John Adams aka Grizzly Adams form Kenilworth.
Cheers Bubbs, I was hoping a Shotton Steel Guy Big J was going to come up as I was scrolling down your last Scrapbook posting, Shotton Steel had quite a sizable fleet of Big J’s. - Nice One!!! - Rob.

hiya,
bubbs the noddy (BMC) pulling the drawbar, from my experience that would be a joke they wouldn’t normally pull your cap off, the ones we had at blackburn brs were constantly being dragged in on a piece of string, blown engines being the most common reason usually a snapped crankshaft it actually happened to me twice running ok then bang that was it.
thanks harry long retired.

I remember the triaxle flats that suddenly became popular around Hull when Key Transport bought them.
A company where I worked after school took a second hand 33’ as payment for an outstanding debt.
I didn’t know they put a V8 AEC engine in a Crusader anyone know anything about it or drive one?
I didn’t know about the AEC engine either, our three were fitted with Rolls 290s and Fuller 9509 boxes. There is somthing in the back of my mind that reminds me that they possibly also fitted Detroit engines. I dont think the AEC V8 was that succesfull anyway

Cracking post Bubbs. I think you must be telepathic!
I’d totally forgotten that John Barrie changed their colour scheme - the new one was a mustard colour I think. Couldn’t have been too long after that they disappeared.
Couple of other beauties there too - J&E Transport (weren’t called the Jets for nothing) and Road Services Forth - wonder who carries all that whisky now?
Thanks again Mark. Great memories.
