I think so, and it was Ransome and Marles before that.
I expect someone older will be along in a minute to tell us what it was before R&M. Mind you they are getting rarer these days (people who are older
)
The transport went out to tender and the contract was won by swift services.

My thanks to you for posting The Cabmont Daf bubbleman, I did many, many miles on the
St Helens-Kings X-St Helens night flyer with that one. If you find anymore Cabmont or Otis I would appreciate seeing them.
Thank you so much for posting this one. I have mentioned this company several times on TruckNet and never had a flicker of interest. I was beginning to think I had dreamed it all up
They were based in Gypsyville near Hessle Road Flyover where East Yorkshire Glazing started off when UPVC was new. I think they have also gone too.

bubbleman:
Colour scheme is the same as that shown below.
Note the Merc is also Stoke registered.
When The Wild Group was based in Stoke,Exeter banch was what used to be Tancocks.When Vic Wild,(The Vicar) died,it all came apart and Exeter depot is now the only thing left of The Wild Group,but has reverted to the name of Tancock,but still running in the same colours.
There used to be another firm called Wild,running in the same colours,from Sittingbourne,no relation,no connection.
i remember wild having a depot in altrincham on the a56 the rear of a garage,was this the same firm ?,i am sure it was !

Maddens was originally from Redruth when they became part of the Wild group.
With the dissolution of the group when the Vicar died,they have been called Tancocks,(The original firm from Exeter),and Maddens.
When I drove for the Wild group in the early ‘70’s,Tancocks depot was in the old quarry just up from where Exeter services is now.In those days,the young assistant TM was Tom Heaver.Now Tom and his brother run it as Heaver Bros.
Don’'t remember anything named Bryans in the equasion.
