This Renault with the Bleriot (PUN intended)cab is very much in use around here hauling olive pulp.
Pat, I tried using the IMG code but it wouldnt paste altho it said it had.
Seen an NH12 Globetrotter today pulling a stone tipper on a local job, will try and nab that one too.
PS Suedehead: We always called the Berliets Bleriots, especially when PBC/Cabmont imported theirs, plus Rijba’s with Davy Thorburn RIP in control of the steering wheel…occasionally!
hi all yep i drove that J363 RVK scania but not from new, only drove it on local, lots of fiddling things seen to go wrong with it, preferred the 112 series scania, had a G reg 113 series on tramp. the crankshaft broke on that one, bumper
I’m sure I knew a guy who drove for Woodpax, his name was Ray, nice guy, I met him in Madrid in 85/86 he was driving one of those cancelled Turkish 6 wheel left ■■■■■■ DAF’s 3300, had a birth mark on his face, last saw him in Birtley truck stop, many moons ago, anyone know him?
How about the mirror arms and mirrors on that Mk.1 Atki overtaking the bus in the snow - was that The Avenue in Southampton?
I thought I had done a good job modernising my Mk.1, but that is impressive.
Interesting to see the pre-TDG Econofreight Mk.2. I didn’t know that they had changed the multi-T Tarmac logo before selling off the transport division.

I see why you might have thought it was the bottom of The Avenue, David, but it isn’t - mind you the London Transport RT-type bus is a giveaway!

You can’t expect me to remember what buses looked liked in Southampton, it’s 61 years since I lived in that fair city although I drove down to the docks many a time in my working life, and shipped out on the old Mary from there way back.
My Granny was a dab hand with paint and canvas and my Dad has one of her pictures of the Avenue on his wall.
hiya,
remember killingbecks taking delivery of a maggie back in the sixties saw it in the yard on a low loader, seemingly one of the lads had set off from the purchase point with it (driving it ) and the liners lifted came in on a low loader went back to purchase point on the low loader never saw it again.was this a problem with these air cooled things? or was it a one off, never had anything to do with them anyway dr john never got any more as far as i can remember.
thanks harry long retired.

I can too as it does look very much like ‘The Avenue’, never lived in Southampton myself but for a few years in the early 70’s my sister lived just behind the Cow Herd’s pub.
