Thanks for more great pictures Marc
Brought the memories flooding back, I had three years on roadtrains in the late 80’s
can almost hear that rear axle whistling once in top gear and flying !!!
Nice pics Marc, i remember the ‘Indian’ Humphreys Roadtrain, had the eyes painted on the pull-down blinds, use to run to italy i think?. Bill had a second interstater which was meant to be painted in a simular guise, do you know wether it was■■?
Hi again,to answer straight 8s question about the 2nd roadtrain dressed as an indian…dunno mate,I know the one I just put on got sprayed in a cream colour and went on to pull Sainsburys trailers out of charlton which was a job Humphries had…got a pic of it like that…somewhere

6 cars maximum in the 60s,probably get those on the prime movers these days
Cheers Marc.
6 on artics only up till 68, then with the lenght increse, it started to move up, although you could get 9 on a wagon and drag. Great pic of the Lathams Big J, Martin Latham the son , was my boss at Cartransport BRS in the late 80’s early 90’s
Here’s another Latham’s motor:
Hello,Bubbs here with some Bedfords.
I wonder where that last pic was taken?
Cheers Marc.
i would say out near wigton in ■■■■■■■■ i say that cos i was up that way a couple of weeks ago and that looked similar.
Dunno where the pic was taken but thats a Wiltshire reg on the lorry
Love the TK artic with the frige van, bet it was a struggle in a head-wind up hill! . My Dad use to do Scotch with a TK artic for a while in the early 70s for Kestrel Freight, went from that to an F88 after he started with Blakey Transport (anybody remember them?), talk about 1 extreme to the other!!!
Hello everyone,happy easter …Mercs today
…one comimg up for Bumper and Franky and one for Steve(mushrooman)…I look after you lot!!!
Hope these are ok
Cheers Marc.
Ha ha, the little ‘Puddle Jumpers’, actually they used to work hard those Mercs and the young drivers that come and went behind the wheel of them and they used to kip in them too, reliable all the same (the wagons not the …). We even had a smaller one than those a little Nissan that barely took a pallet in the back, I once took three small rolls of lead sheet over to the Lakes in it, lovely summers’ day and a nice toodle over there. They were wanted for some cottage roof, I rung the office when I’d delivered and asked if they had any return loads lined up, I won’t tell you what he said! Cheers for that Marc keep them coming. Franky.
