Nice view of the Tyne and the bridges Bubbleman but its a shame those aren’t British wagons instead of Hino Tippers, is the distributor for them still at Catterick just off the AI, Harris I think they were called. Franky.

United Molasses ran from many depots, Regent Road Liverpool. Avonmouth, Birkenhead, Hull, Glasgow and London.
Hi Marc. Thanks for the Seaman Clubb Foden photo, my dad used to run along side Clubbs on the wood job back in the 70s & 80s. Never new they were from Reading though. We used to see them regularly in Kemsley paper mill nr Sittingbourne, dont know if their still going, havnt seen them for years.
Thanks for the Transcon pic Bubbleman, no doubt Bumper will remember that big Ford too and that it went like a train with the twin splitter box as most of the early Van Hee Fords had. I think the driver of that vehicle was Stan Black but could be wrong, he was a ME man too and those spread axle tilt trailers were stripped and used as flats when the overseas work finished. I have another similar pic of this motor but it must have come from the Ford brochure of the time as it has the Ford logo and the words ‘Strength you can rely on’ just below the vehicle, your pic is slightly larger too so even better. Lastly I wonder just how many trucks were snapped over the years with the same view, using the Tyne Bridge as a backdrop. Cheers Franky.

hi ya bubbleman, photo of van hee transcon was the front page of i think is was the headlight magazine
, it was billy bowden driving that unit, reg was OBB 562 R, hence the lads always called him old billy bowden
the trailer was bran new, and used there after by big kris, on the M/E , M/E drivers kept the same unit and trailer all the time, the james humter photo brought some more memories back, did a lot of work for them when working for brownlees transport, 1966-1974 did a lot out of dorman langs cambuslang works, keep up the good work, bumper

You got some great pic’s there Marc, loved the ERFs brings the old days back to me.
Hi Marc, this is one truck that many of your viewers will not have seen, an 8x2 Renault with the Bleriot cab. Still in service now. There is a VOLVO F12 8x2 floating around here too but not caught it parked up to get a snap of it. You will have to click the link because the html one wont work for some reason…sorry.

Hello,Scanias today .
Hope these are ok
Cheers Marc.
What more Van Hee’s, I’m sure one of those two was Bumpers, he’ll confirm that. I was back in the workshops when these came (third time at VH). Bumper can tell you if they were better or worse than the 112’s, I remember he had problems with those awful heater switches the 3 Series had and the wrap around dash wasn’t so popular. Franky.
Hi bubbleman, was that you on the bridge with your camera on the M5 just south of Gordano yesterday?
I’ve said it before and now again great pics, keep it up please
Gavin
