Hi HH

Hi Bubbleman … Altitude.
You are right, that is the picture of 1942 Austin he changed the headlights to bigger ones
after the war, but he says he will try and get the pic of the Proctor.
Will put the link on to my website and you can have a look through them.
Go to gallery and then each era and then on each truck as well or you can look at them on a slideshow.

Had a 1729 POWERLINER  @ 38 t - one of the biggest piles of pooh i have ever driven.

How the hell would a 190 be able to cope at 40t ?
[/quote

40 ton was a long way off this was 1972/3, as a tractor unit I think they were only plated for 26 ton.

I think you’ve got your badging a little wrong, the 1729 had a (theoretical) output of 290 bhp, they did have a model I had the dubious pleasure of driving for a while, the 1619 which was plated to run at 32 tons with a 190hp output.

RT.

My Mistake Bigr 250… what I ment to say was my Brother had the first 1317 tractor unit, I’ll see if he’ll lend me the pics. I didn’t mean the 1729 was only plated for 26 ton, sorry.

Hello once again, more mixed clippings lads

Thats what I call a sleeper pod!!

Cheers Marc

Sleeper pop!!! you could have a dance in there :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Is that pod fixed to the cab or the body ?

Suedehead:
Is that pod fixed to the cab or the body ?

I would say perhaps both, as they were a non tilt cab, don’t know how you would get in, as the cab normally would not have had a roof vent !!!

Ant
