Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

Hi again, heres todays bunch of oldies,Cheers Bubbs,

Hiya,
Thanks for the Maudslay pic Bubbs, this one certainly resembles the Mikado
I drove as a newbie back in the 1950s and it wasn’t for very long either the
thing nearly killed me it was built in 1939 with all the mod cons of that era
including one wiper, although it was converted to two and of course the old
armstrong steering oh’ it did have the luxury of two mirrors and a fog light.

The ELY AEC was from an article in the AEC gazette magazine.

The North Lincs GUY above with the tri axle tipping tailer is an intresting pic from 1967. I assume this was bought on anticipation of the weight limit being increased which i seem
to remember they were trying to do around the late 60’s ■■?

You posted a Regent Atkinson tanker further up the page Bubbs, heres a GUY from 1967.

With regard to the last pic of the 113 with “380” on the grill. I cant remember them offering a 380 on the 113 or have i lost the plot ? :unamused:

From memory the 113 was 320 or 360 bhp ■■

They did offer a 113 380, but not as early as the ‘G’ reg one in the pic -
Most 380’s that I recall had the Streamline 3 series cab fitted - and were later 3 series , probably ‘L’ reg and onwards.
The extra 20 horses came from the EDC (semi- electronic injector pump ), which meant that they were fitted with cruise control too.

Cheers Keith
