Hello Phil,
I think this is the pic you want, it dates from the late 60s and I dont think yours was amongst them…the 88s were “F” reg and as you can see the 86s in view have the early front wings which went down th the small foot plate.I believe yours has the plastic grille and I dont recall Goldings having those…The one I had was from the fleet and was on a “J” plate and a steel griller.

Something like a payload on that Foden, 21.5 tonnes running at 30.50 gross, and that is with a heavy ■■■■■■■ engine and a spare wheel.

There is an article in today’s Commercial Motor about an owner driver who is running an 05 reg Foden Alpha eight wheeler tipper, which he has run from new Pete.He would have updated it,but as he says there isn’t anything around that does the job as well as the Foden.
Cheers Dave.

Hi bubbs thanks for the Goldings photo, that is the one I wanted. The 86 I am rebuilding is not the one my uncle owned
He bought 1 new on a F reg then bought another of goldings with as you say with the flat step and stright mudguard I think
it could be the one with the fiberglass name board as I still have it

Thanks Phil

Does anyone know if she still survives?

Used to see this all the time when taking Vickers Engineering AS90 tank to Eskmeals Gun Range for test firing near bootle ■■■■■■■■ it must have been very low mileage as it was always parked in the shed.
It was use to take large gun barrels on the beach for test fires.

It has to be Les Chilvers you are thinking about, from Heacham N.Norfolk. He has recently retired (after carrying on for a couple of years) from MDF of Yarmouth. You probably knew him when he drove for John Fairweather who had tidy sized fleet up till the early '90s.
Les is a top man and I’ve had a lot of nights out with him over the years and, as you say, allways telling jokes. Cheers Haddy Gt.Yarmouth.

Was the Super Buffalo a drawbar rigid?

A Bison is a 6x4 rigid and a Buffalo was a a four wheeler, most were tractor units, but there were some long wheel base rigids used as wagon and drag.

The Super Buffalo would be a turbo version fitted with a Leyland fixed head 501 or 511 motor.

I think the Super Buffalo was only a rigid
