Scrapbook Memories (Part 1)

Toddy2:
Hi MOC - Just found out that the trailer in the photo used my Millers is made by Landoll - I think they are Italian

I think that Miles Nunn may have made a slider in the past, and I think they may have been taken over by Andover trailers

Thanks for that Toddy2 ,i have heard of that italian trailer manufactuers before but never seen that model . cheers :sunglasses:

MOC:
Are they the same trailers or just the same idea Dieseldog66,iv never seen them before :exclamation:

No MOC, they are different trailers, the bogies didn’t slide on the Mousley ones, the landing legs, powered by a separate motor, (if you can imagine a cat stretching it’s front legs), it just sort of kneeled down, I lost all my pics when my pc went t-t’s up, hence I’ve had to change my name too.

MOC i’ve just googled it ‘Mousley Trucking Jumbo Legs’, there are some pics there

Landoll trailers are an American company. I spoke with one of the Directors at the NEC show in 2001, I think that was their first time in the UK, they were promoting the trailer to recovery operators mainly, especially coach recovery

Arcade Motors used to run those kneeling trailers on international recovery work.

MOC,

Never seen a trailer like that before, dont think they caught on either!

I’m sure many of us have seen the small wheeled version of these trailers used by recovery guys parked on the hard shoulder in an area of motorway roadworks.

Not the same, the chassis & cab stays stationary & the body tilts. With the artic the unit & chassis moves & the back wheels stay put.

All taken by Roger Kenney

Sorry, I do not know the locations or actual date when these taken by Roger, but I hope the above images bring back memories for some. By the way who knows the name of the dog?

(Also posted on the Forth & Magirus Deutz forums)

The Maggie d on the right in the workshops.Looks like a short sleeper/drop bunk, must have been a bit of a rarity in the mid 60s?

do you have a link for the forth forum.

They still had a couple when I was at Ontime, they looked like a pain in the arse really, especially to keep clean and deliver a new Ferrari with white Connelly leather seats
