Hello again, heres more old stuff  :unamused: ,Cheers Bubbs,

That FS7 must be a one-off as a tractor unit, they were as rare as hen’s teeth in general.

IIRC when at Westerns, they had an identical looking motor that was badged Renault on a tanker contract at Tenneco Blackburn, purchased I think because of its low unladen weight. Seem to think it was quite powerful yet regrettably unreliable and spares were a bit of a problem. I’ve never seen another one though

Hi lads, good comments on the FS7…Hayday the only Renault I saw on Western tpt was A566OKX which was a 260,I’m probably wrong but I thought it was on the RTZ contract  more useless info  ,heres todays bunch,Cheers Bubbs,

All taken by Roger Kenney

Sorry, I do not know the locations or actual date when these taken by Roger, but I hope the above images bring back memories for some. By the way who knows the name of the dog?

hiya,
The last time I saw that dog it had five legs four of it’s own and one belonging to a driver, I think I heard somebody call it Gerroff though.

Great pics Marcus I can remember going with my Dad in the one of those maggies when he worked at Cypren Fox it had the gears on the handlebars.
IIRC when Cyprens Started going over the water just before Clarkesons sending Alltransport and the Howe vehicles reglarly a few Cyprens went over and thats where the Maggie met her fate the prop snapped and ripped all the air tanks and fuel lines off lol

Three more for you Marcus (also posted on Bulwark thread)

Three for Bulwark past employees, enthusiasts and followers. All three pictures taken by Roger Kenney. The Guy tanker pictured features in our ‘Views to the North’ book which was published to celebrate Roger’s photographic work. Adrian Cypher also photographed a fair few of the Bulwark fleet in the 60s.

The 2nd photo looks like it was taken in the Trafford Park area by the looks of it.

Yes, I have not got a copy of the book nearby but the caption may have alluded to the manchester area. Adrian Cypher, Malcolm Mortimer and Ray Jenkins were all supportive in providing caption material. As for me I just think it is a great photographic composition - whether that was in Roger’s mind when he took the picture we will never know. That era provided so many marvellous locations as a backdrop to the subject.

The building in the background is the old Turner & Newalls factory, that dealt with some asbestos related materials!

Chris Webb:

I’m sure Felgate Transport were on Ripple Road Barking, next door to A E Evans Regent Transport. The drivers used to go into The Ship and Shovel boozer side of the A13,very handy for a jar.
A nice photo.

The “pencil necker” driving this Scania wants to remember to put his shirt on when he gets out of the cab !!! Otherwise a ■■■■■ Hawk or a Gull will swoop down and 'ave him away !!! Cheers Dennis.
