Scottish Referendum

Well I don’t know how much this fiasco will have cost the UK as a whole but what a total waste of money. Money which would have been better spent on the NHS throughout the country, Then the main perpetrator just up and walks away unfortunately he did not take Sturgeeon with him.

I’m sure that Tito and Stalin would have said the same thing regarding the breakup of the former Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union. The unionist cause here can obviously support the idea of self determination and anti federalism when it suits it. :unamused:

As for supporting the idea of the ‘UK’ or any other type of federation the type of Unionist knuckle draggers running amok in Glasgow shows where that inevitably leads to sooner or later if/when anyone dares to defy their federalist ideology by calling for secession.

If you take the view that Salmond all but achieved what he set out to do then there is no doubt that he is an exceptional politician.

However when you weigh up the cost of the exercise you come to the conclusion that this is a typical left winger who is at his best spending other people’s money.

More serious than this however he has split the Scottish nation down the middle for his own self-aggrandisement and for that alone I can never forgive him.

Like thousands of others too, Regards Larry.

Well it’s all over now and by all accounts it’s a right balls up,who’s left to clean up the ■■■■■■■■■■ the English tax payer of course but then Slamond has thrown a spanner into the “works” and “one eyed” Gordon has stuck it to “Moriband”.So why can’t us English have the same deal as the Scots ? We can’t as far as “Moriband” is concerned 'cause that would involve losing his 40 odd Scots MP’s who have been able to give Labour Election wins over the years and have voted on English matters which have ■■■■ all to do with Scotland !So now even the English Labour MP’s as well as even “The English hating Jocks” agree that this situation is unfair! So,both Cameron and Moriband are in a right ■■■■■■■ bind, one wants a level playing field and the other is like a Turkey that is not going to vote for Christmas !! Nigel Farage and UKIP cannot believe their luck they’ve just been handed two sticks to beat the ■■■■■ with, great, bring it on I say !!  :laughing:Bewick.

Alex has just told me that 'Eck has got a start on this wee motor next week having jacked in at the SNP :open_mouth:

Dennis my good buddy you are quite right in what you are saying, But where is It all going to end, Speaking for myself Im ■■■■■■ off paying taxes on my pensions etc, Plus I do enjoy the malts from Scotland which of course as you are aware are taxed, So I don’t mind that bit because I enjoy them , But the rest of the tax I pay beats me what hell do they do with it ■■? , Regards Larry.

The issue of unionism v nationalism was there long before Salmond got involved. As for typical left winger who is at his best spending English money by infiltrating the English government that would be Gordon Brown not Salmond. No surprise you seem to be a bit selective in your choice of left wingers.

Go to bed & rest your silly head CF, & Perhaps you will wake up in the morning & Get real , Regards Larry.

I reckon it’s about time to stop on about it. What’s done is done.

We’ll all see what happens in the future regarding Europe, and all the rest of the crap that politicians and the press stick down our throats.

Mind you saying that the bewick and cf row has been quite amusing at times…

How is Farage going to come out of this smelling of roses when instead of supporting the breakup of the UK and letting the Scottish sort out their own affairs and how to fund them themselves the stupid zb decided to join Gordon Brown in keeping us all tied together :unamused: and now it’s all blown up in their faces he’s trying to make out that he’s all for England and the English as he should have been from the start.

The fact that the whole federalist zb up has got Gordon Brown’s grubby paw prints all over it is as real as it gets.Hopefully now the English will finish what Salmond started.

Your right there Larry about paying tax on our pension incomes as I believe that once you’ve got to retirement you should’nt have to carry on paying tax for the rest of your days as we paid enough when we were grafting,I know I did and in bloody large amounts ££££££’s plus the fact the ■■■■■■■■ get plenty of tax from us in the form of duty and vat that we spend on the luxuries of life now we’er retired, which we neither could afford or have time to spend when we were grafting our bollox off in the earlier years eh!,a pint or two maybe but that was all ! Cheers Dennis.

Just for the record, I’ll say this once more. I’m not an SNP voter.

Salmond is no bad loser! He’s an honourable man with integrity. He took a certain stance and it didn’t come off. Now he resigns with dignity.
Did Brown resign after leading Labour to defeat? Did Major? When Cameron loses his job to Boris will he resign? Will Clegg when he gets his marching orders?
Salmond is a Giant amongst politicians, unlike the pygmies in the Tory, Labour & Lib-Dem parties and their pal Brown.
He’s done more to improve the circumstances of his fellow countrymen and women than all who post on here, including me!
He led his party to a landslide victory in 2011 gaining them a second term in office.
Think they wont get a third?
Labour’s traditional heartland, Glasgow & Lanarkshire, overwhelmingly voted for Independnce. Where will that put Milliband & Labour in 2016 at the next Holyrood Elections?
Starting way back!

This referendum post had potential for a decent and sensible debate on a matter that affected the whole of the UK, and, as usual, descended into the usual slagging off and stupid comments.
Banter is one thing, abuse is another.
Terrible.

Alex, my friend, I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said. I woke on Friday morning convinced it was Independence Day. I don’t remember a time when I felt so bad.

Thats if Nursie decides he’s sane enough to let of his cell, sorry, secure accomodation in the morning once he has been observed taking his medication off the shovel they stick under his door and he calms down a bit and stops throwing himself against the rubber walls   Bewick.

Quite right Dennis, I know you were in the haulage game in a lot bigger way than my family business were but we all grafted as you say & bloody hard graft to earn a few bob, So why do we have to still pay tax on our hard earned money that we put away for our retirement years, The state pension is a bloody joke when you look at what the state pays out to the ones, That don’t work & never will as long as they get hand outs, Regards Larry
