I think the No campaign has been a little lacklustre and over-confident and the decision to leave it to Scottish Labour and Lib Dems might have been a bit shortsighted.
The Yes campaign has been marred by its xenophobia and it’s’ reliance on Salmond’s rabble rousing politics.
Neither side comes out of this squeaky clean but the issue is so serious and will affect our pockets to such a degree that I hope common sense prevails tomorrow.
Assuming your definition of common sense means a no vote it’s my bet you’ll get your wish which isn’t surprising considering the barrage of federalist propaganda in the biased media against the yes side. The result being strengthening the position of the federalist LabLibdemCon alliance and people like Miliband and his Scottish sidekick Brown,Clegg and Cameron.
As opposed to a seperate Scotland and a weaker LabLibDemCon alliance with the possibility of Cameron being dumped in favour of an anti federalist Conservative UKIP alliance and Salmond being dumped in favour of a real nationalist leader. As they say be careful what you wish for.The fact is everything points to the future of both England and Scotland being handed over to the agenda of federalism by the so called ‘anti federalists’ like Farage who’ve shown their true colours in being anything but.

You should be fighting with ISIS “CF” ! Bewick.
Not me.They are just another bunch of Federalists who just happen to follow a ‘different leader’.Anyway when the no’s win the LabLibdemCons will probably go after you for being Islamophobic in that post.
If it’s a no vote then Westminster will be falling over backwards to appease the people of Scotland and will give in to any demands. I personally hope it is a yes vote, either way England, N Ireland and Wales are in a no win situation regardless of the outcome.

What a surprise another federalist resorting to personal insults and the threat of war in the case of the nationalist cause winning out.Stalin branded many of his opponents as nuts too. While Putin is going by the same paranoid logic as you are in wanting to re build the Soviet Union because he thinks his ‘enemies’ are laughing at him.

Ironically Ireland needs to sort itself out regarding selling out its hard won independence to the EU and UK big business interests before it starts trying to get involved in the minefield of Ulster politics and unionism. The border was put there for a reason and it’s not worth trying to deal with the problem from the Irish side. That issue will only be settled when the English get out of the stone age by rejecting federalism and everything it stands for.

No its just that the unionist side is much more concentrated in the North which is why the border was agreed to seperate Ireland to take account of that and it’s doubtful wether that situation has changed. While if unionism is removed from the scene from this side that would avoid the need for the inevitable argument that would probably result in the case of a referendum to return the North to the Republic.IE if Scotland goes then trust me unionism will collapse with it just like the Soviet Union did because Ulster and England alone won’t be sufficient to make a viable UK.Job sorted.
Which is one of the main reasons why the federalists are putting up such a biased concerted campaign in Scotland to stop that happening. Therefore assuming Scotland stays in the Union a United Ireland will probably remain a much more difficult goal because it will probably strengthen the unionist position.

so carryfast is trying to stir the [zb] with our dear friends the irish north and south now im the dull one for biting regards rowly
No it’s called realism.I think I’ve made my sympathies with the anti federalist/nationalist cause clear wherever it is.The issue of Ulster actually historically producing a disagreement in that nationalist cause.Having links to the Collins side of that issue and agreeing with that position its obvious that I don’t agree that the issue of a united Ireland will ever be a simple one to sort out so long as the issue of Unionism remains a large factor in that.

First thing how do you know there’s more unionist than republicans
Second thing not all of Ulster is northern Ireland
Third thing just think of all the man and woman who died for a United ireland

It’s obvious that we’re referring to the part of Ireland within the existing UK.The idea of a unionist majority in that part is just an educated guess based on historical lines which is the main reason why the border was agreed to start with.As for a Northern Irish referendum there would obviously be more chance of that if there is a clear majority there for the pro re unification groups.
The previous general election results there suggest that the Unionist side still held a majority at that time.Which is why I think there is more chance of a united Ireland by way of Unionism collapsing outside of Ireland.
Having said that going by percentage of the vote the two main nationalist parties seem to have around the same share as the unionists.Which for some reason doesn’t seem to be reflected in the number of seats.
If its a No vote do we get rid of Salmond ? If its a yes vote do we get rid of Salmond ? either way we would be better of without him he only wants his name in the history books. Buzzer.

irish lorries:
If you look at the percentage per year
So we shouldn’t get a choice then and that’s 4 years old
My view of it seems to be reflected here.IE getting it wrong by calling for a referendum in Northern Ireland too soon in the wrong circumstances could create more problems than it would solve.
