realistic we all know every motor have weakneses ,when you know them they do no harm, and dennis i.ll tryed to be a litle ironic to mr saviem ,who i have respect for his knowles, but wanted to say that whit some faults SCANIA IS BETTER AND TOTAL ECONOMICAL THEN ANY ELSE MOTOR I KNOW ABOUT so i.ll never said if you read again my quite to saviem that scania was or is unreiable, cheers benkku, don,t no what that means real name is BENGT,maybee autotransit know to translate it
I realise that you have run Scanias for many years and have had great service from them, regardless of minor problems that have been experienced during those years bma.!!! It would not have been possible to have replaced the Scania with a more reliable marque in your part of the world ( even a French model!!) take no notice of “Saviem” he’ll have been drinking Bollinger champagne which tends to warp the memory a little bit!!!You and I have to make do with a few cans of Stella or Carlsberg Special well not much Special or we may start saying how good "all things French are"and we’ll then have “Fergie 47” on the thread trying to sell us rough French Rougue and some Camenbert cheese !!! Only on the “wind up” lads! Dennis.
knowing how hot feelings can bee whit fodens and DD;s only tryed to be polight to thouse who dont recognice the best even if they see it
now takeing an OLVI cheers to you Dennis Benkku

I did count, that there´s eight LB´s, the one on right is A.Vitikainen from Kotka.
I raise my bid to nine. There is a lorry behind the blue 110, but it is impossible to tell if it’s an LB or not. From what can be seen, it looks a bit like a Berliet. On the Berliet thread, there is some discussion of the LB111 compared to the TR305- the 111 was preferred, by a small margin, if I remember correctly.
PS Keep this conversation going gents- it’s just the thing to cheer me up after a rotten day.

You´re right about total count of LB´s, there really is ninth. Looks it´s pulling Kiitoliikenne trailer, and has red cab. Judging by that, and that Kiitoliikenne was almost 100% Scania customer,up to last years, when Sisu´s came along.
I would say, that is LB, Scania at least.
Berliet has always been quite rare on here, since 60´s, market shares has been dominated by two swedes, and nothing bad about that .

god luck for us Jontti that saviem moved to france cheeers benkku
Hi, bma, jonti, well all the plans are made for my trip to Bordeaux to collect my LB76, (the best Scania ever made)!! Ive cleaned out the fuel tank on my newest John Deere , so there is no trace of "red" diesel, and she is full of "white". Checked out the brakes on the plant trailer, and the route on the "Michelin", ferrys booked for Wednesday next, and I am looking forward to a long leisure trip at 40kph! (probably about the same as I used to manage in our old 150hp Fodens back in the 60s)! I must say if I had a Scandanavian night out, I would much rather have slept in the cab of a 110, or 111, than a KB42 Berliet, (that would have been as cold as a 2800 DAF), too cold for me! Like I said, I`ve earned good money from selling and buying Scanias, and I ran a good number of R, and P cab 113s in the late 80s, but I never really “got” the Scania “bug”, but I respect those of you that love them. Me, I found MAN both cheaper, more economic, and acceptable as a whole life vehicle in the UK. There should be room for a few crates of Bollinger as well as the 76, on my homeward journey! Good luck, Cheerio for now.
Bonsoir Monsieur Saviem. Shropshire to Bordeaux and back, in a tractor, to collect a cherished old lorry. This promises to be an expedition worthy of many words. Be sure to take the spirit of Mr. Llywellyn with you. Et bon chance.
hej saviem, you are welcome to finland too,try to safe this early 111,the owner wount sell it ,and now it stand in amiddle of an village ,falling slowly apart but did know that in your heart your a scania man ,god luck ,cheers benkku
Hello all, thanks for your good wishes! Bill, my route will not be the quickest, (too many old memories to revisit)! [ZB], if only I had one tenth of the late Phillip Llewyn`s skill with words I would be a happy man, (but our friend newmercman does a pretty fair job on his Brandt Trucking blog, no, far more than fair)!! bma, your drawing on the Scania Vabis thread really encapsulates what has got to us all, and really sums it all up, thank you! Yes I will keep you all posted, (even though I am not so good on this electronic stuff), thanks, Cheerio for now.
