did see this and think ‘that looks ok’

It’s got a bigger cab than a 143, but personally I think it’s a wee bit overpriced.
You can get a really nice Actros for around the 20-25k mark, virtually bulletproof mechanically and in my opinion is one of the best cabs you can get. A nice Globby XL can also be had for similar money, smaller cab but just as nice to live in, pretty strong built and not likely to leave you stranded … unlike your mutant 143!

fair comment …what about this one FH16Globetrotter
won’t plate at 44 tonne
therefore, will cost more on RFL
and at 59,000 euro, it is definately overpriced

56000 euro…47,548.32 GBP
don’t forget who the person is that will be paying for the diesel
those Davie Malcolm trucks will use plenty of it being the V8 580
Hi Dafydd as u know i just had 3 weeks doing nights out in a 143 topline and when i found out i was gonna be driving one i thought sweet the legendary 143 450 should be fun. Im now back in my FH and could’nt be happier about it, that 143 is probably more of a rewarding drive than a modern truck but its a novelty, the cabsize is crippling compared to the big new cabs and even if like me you do get a kick out of driving one after a couple of weeks it aint worth it, I was only driving that ■■■■ running one i could’nt believe the mpg, mind you the fact she didnt have a limiter and the little devil on my shoulder never helped.
Im a bit like yourself my old man had a turbostar used to go italy with him all the time and if i ever have enough disposable income il get myself a mint 4x2 turbostar the special edition but as for now il just try to make enough money with the volvo to have that luxury.
I can see from your previous replys you got your heart set on it but honestly its enough to make a living as an OD without letting your heart rule your head.
Just my oppinion though
Dafydd, this will do you perfectly as a start up O/D

yea they could use alot… all depends on work they on tho eh
now you are being more realistic, but, the DAF is a little overpriced for a 430 space cab
the MAN TG-A 430XLX i linked to a few posts ago is a better proposition, 06/56 plate at £16,950, they would more than likely do you a deal at £16,500 with 12 months MoT thrown in

I would take the MAN spanky posted over that DAF. The extra 3 grand gets you a truck 2 years newer with half the mileage. Easily worth it.
