Just nicked this from the CM archives- as a test of the new service.

It is the launch of the 141.

Look how understated the article is! The first reports of the most important new lorry of the decade, and it gets a few column inches next to a picture of a crappy van. Nowadays, such news would fill half a magazine. That said, there is more factual content in the text, than you would get amongst all the recycled sales-speak in a modern-day comic’s article.

Painted this a long time ago, been looking through the thread, KJN671 certainly got about a bit :exclamation:

Autotransit:
As bma says is the V8 have no relation with any other Scania engine. Here are some facts from the back side of the information sheet:
Scania L50 S 54. Engine: DS5, 120 h.p. Gear box: S5-35

I believe that this is a mostly unknown engine, eight cylinders in a row mounted in an S-V LS85 in 1952. Engine: D811; 11, 3 litre and 180 h.p.

I happen to have two of these 8 cylinder in a row engines. One is in my tug-boat and the other one serves as a back up in my shed. If anyone could give me some more information about these engines I would be very grateful. The one in my boat is broken and I am trying to repair it.
