Wheel Nut:
Does anybody know if one of the original Scania’s 140/141 from Astran still excist? What about these two for example? greetings Peter from the Netherlands
As far as I know only one of the early Astran 140’s survived. Pat Duffy used it. There are photos of it elsewhere on Trucknet.
PHK (the yellow one) was left in Doha when Astran closed the transport operations, but TDX survived and later became a wrecker. There are some photos posted elsewhere on Trucknet as a wrecker.
There is also a “very good rumour” that at least one of Astran’s early 142’s is still “alive” in Doha…

hi bma and welcome to Trucknet uk .com.you are more than welcome on here as it is a lot better to get a broad view of things by way of contributions from all different countries.
i once had an old ls 141 6x2 my brother an i bildit almoust from schrath we drow it 8 years winter plowing roads rest of times with a 4 axel towbar in finnland allowed 60ton
one of the simply best ever .maybee i find a shot of it ,it was homemaid but loved
Anyone want to buy a Scania 124 bonneted unit ,its a 6 wheeler tag axle version. The reason im asking is that im gonna get lumbered with the pile of crap if it doesnt sell soon , i like Scanias but not the bonneted version ,im going incognito if i end up having to drive it
These last few pics illustrate our earlier discussion quite well. The Australian road trains are pulled by 6x4s with single reduction, while the Scandinavian operators of the day seemed to favour hub reduction for their 6x2s.
