Hi Oliver Hart from Coppell had a few Routemans like these on coal out of S Wales regards keith
You could never be sure what Olly Hart’s lorries were, most were home made mongrels.
One had an AEC chassis with a Bristol cab and Leyland engine.

Here,s one of Olivers,I think this is a genuine Scammell.0
I’m trying to find a super shot of the Brady tractor unit coupled to a dropside tandem trailer when in “as new” condition,I think it would have been shot on Barrow Dock, maybe John can turn it up but it sure is a cracking shot of a Michelotti cab.Cheers Dennis.
Is this the one Dennis

Thats the shot John, thanks, but that poses another question, because it now seems that Brady’s ran " (TWO) Scammell tractors as the one in the other shot further back in the thread is “D” reg !!They would both be running when I was there but I only believed there was only one !! I know I did a lot of “Zzzzz’s” in the Octopus but I could have swore they only had one tractor and one defo had the Gardner 150 same as the 8 wheeler(of which there was defo only one!) Cheers Dennis.PS 40 odd years ago is a long time and when your brain shrivels to the size of a peanut you have to be forgiven a bit!!!
Great shots “Scamm” that 8 wheeler and (short arsed by the looks of it!) trailer would have been a rare bird,I bet it would get stuck and start spinning for fun on the slightest of grades!!! Only been single drives the early Routmans were not really specc’d for pulling a trailer, only my opinion though, but very interesting shot all the same, keep 'em coming !! Cheers Bewick.

Nice batch of shots again Scamm,I’ve seen that one of the 8 wheeler with the 4 in-line dolly and load of pipes elswhere on the thread though. It always seemed to be well on top of it’s job at the fron’t end but a bit on the light side at the back, although the pipes might not be so heavy so no probs eh! keep 'em coming,Cheers Bewick.
